You definitely need to connect at least once to authorize your DLC so you'll need to separately troubleshoot that issue if that is the case - it is independent of Legacy.

Cough. I wrote in my original post that my game version is 1.03 ...
I made Patch 1.03 installation about 2 or 3 days since it was out. Haven't played after install but about a week ago or so (could be more , quite busy at work atm, can't remember) I realised that I have no saved games for announced Legacy DLC %) So I did a full playthrough with melee rogue. Can't remember any noticeable issues with that.
Started Legacy with quicksave after ending autosave - I went to Emporium, sold trash & unneeded loot, came back to estate & quicksaved with about 9 items in bags.

I can't get the thing to show up. I've tried installing it again but still no. It shows that it is installed but it won't run. What am I doing wrong? I'm logged in and I have the latest update.

Fair enough, I'll add it to the report but so far you're the only one who has crashes outside of the DLC since installing it.

I encountered a strange freeze of the game when switching to Isabela during combat. I clicked on her portrait and then it whited out and the game froze. It happened during one of the first fights in the Carta Hideout. (DirectX11, GTX 560, all settings to highest including hi-res textures, 275.33 drivers).

Also, I encountered the crash during the intro that has been mentioned in this thread before; temporarily reverting to DirectX 9 worked around it).

The switching to DX9 helped me get past the "I'll take my chances". Was able to play and switched back to DX11. I thought at first maybe it was the beta drivers I am using, the 275.50. I switched back to the 275.33 same results.

Now I am experiencing random crashes during the DLC gameplay, but not during the regular campaign.

Shadows keep popping in and out of existence in rectangular patterns around characters after entering the Carta Hideout. I'm now past the first seal and the problem is still there. For my card and settings check 2 posts above. I've never had this problem during the campaign, so I guess it's some messed up lightning in the DLC's interiors. It's not pretty.

Update:

The issue with the shadows disappeared after restarting the game. However, it reapperead after I activated one of the Marks of the Binder in the prison.

Update 2:

The issue seems to occur regardless of game restarts. It seems to be tied to certain indoor areas, whereas it just doesn't happen in others.

I'm having that issue where it says I don't have DA2 installed and therefore it can't install Legacy...despite the fact that I was *just* in DA2 a little while ago.

This goes based on your registry so if you've moved the game or copied it from another source (or something else that would cause the registry to be non-existant or point to the wrong place) that would be the cause of that.

My issue was resolved with a simple re-installation of the DLC.

I also have the crash after "I'll take my chances." Ugh. I'm reverting back to 270.61 driver to see if that helps, I'd rather not have to play the game in DX9. There's a reason I have it for PC. :/ I'm hoping since it's PC only, SWTOR doesn't have these kinda issues since I just pre-ordered it.

It is crashing about 1/3 of the time at every scene change. Within the zones, there are no crashes, and have seen no new errors or other problems. Unfortunately, I suffer from the same Steam problem, which is that about half of ambient dialogs miss the opening beat.

Directx 9.0c. Windows XP.

Video card: ATI Radeon HD 4600. Duel core processor.

Well my DA2 game is installed on my D: drive...I installed it there from the disc, is there a way to "edit" the regestry entry so as to not have to try re-instaling all over?

I'm having the same issue of it not 'seeing" my DA2 install.

Patched to 1.3 and able to run & login to the servers just fine btw

Ive tried playing it from the endgame save, although it shows up in my dlc list, I can't find the memento of legacy to start the dlc. It's not in the writing desk nor do I see anything clickable relating to the dlc in Hawke's home. I already have 1.03 patch installed. Not sure what the problem is. Anyone have any suggestions..

I know it says you have Legacy but does it have an asterisk beside it (indicating it being unauthorized)? You need to be connected to the right account for it to authorize properly. If you're sure they line up trying logging out and back in.

Yes, there is a way to manually edit it but if you don't know how regedit works I'd like to caution you not to touch anything but the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\

in that directory there is a key called 'Path', if you right click and modify that you can edit it.

and again, don't touch anything in regedit unless you know what you're doing. It has very angryface consequences to your PC.

Edit: thats the path if you have a 64bit OS, it'll be the exact same minus the \\Wow6432Node\\ folder I believe if you're 32bit

The 275.33 Nvidia drivers crash the main game using DX11 but are fine with DX9 and are fine on DX11 as long as high, not, very high, resolution textures are used. 270.61 is rock solid for DA2 and DAO with DX11. (There is a giant thread stickied to the top about it with much gnashing of teeth and screaming )

I'm using them (260.71) with a 9800GT (older, I know) and it played fine through the whole thing. That is until I got to the final battle when midway through no one would attack no matter what I did and hold stopped working so they all roasted like nugs. So far it has happened twice more with the failure to follow instructions of any kind happening earlier each time. I completely exited the game and plan to re-start and re-try.

Edit: Restart helped a little.  By completely disabling all tactics and setting everyone to Defensive I was able to get through the final battle micromanaging everything.  Hold still was not working, or rather, it was working randomly.  One or two would hold while the rest followed after me or ran into the middle of nowhere then they would suddenly un-hold themselves.  Changing video settings made no difference at all (not that I expected it to).  Everyone behaves fine again when I return to the main campaign.

One other odd thing: after the battle when I return to the main game, Hawke shrinks in the inventory view when I equip him with the chest-piece.  He instantly returns to normal size when I equip any other chest-piece.  He also looks smaller in-game, but it could be a lack of sleep.

I will note that I had this exact same problem, and it turned out my Anti-Virus program read the exe file for DA2 as a virus and quarantined it. Had to undo that.

Having the same crash problem when it begins to load new content. Works fine if I do the DX 11 to 9 switch, and then back again. There is an option to save a .xml file with system info from the DA2 launcher. Wish I could just send that, but my hardware is:
Nvidia GTX 580 (latest beta drivers)

Also I'm on the "steam version" of the game (meaning I bought it off steam).

I even can't install the DLC, all I got is this error: http://www.putpix.co.../2497/error.jpg .

Already downloaded the installer three times from " Your registered game content", also, I downloaded others DLC installers to check if is my PC and all work fine.

My SO is Win7 64b and my DA:2 is from Steam.

Edit: Ok, after download the file again I finally can install the DLC. Looks like all I have was a round of very bad luck.

In the final battle I wasn't able to finish because in the fourth round after switching off the four statues nothing happened, just walking around in circles. Try it three times loading the last autosave before the battle. I never get to the fourth round without reloading so I'm not sure but it could be a bug caused by loading the autosave just before the final battle.

I was able to finish it loading a previous save (not the autosave one), turning the difficulty settings to casual and killing it in the third round.
