Trying to keep spoilerage to a minimum...I was also somewhat disappointed with DAII, and having persuaded many people that hadn't played DAO that DAII was definitely worth paying for because I found DAO fantastic..I felt kind of bad. However, they enjoyed it...and I've told them not to play DAO as it may alter their opinion of DAII and they'll come and kill me when they realise that I completely overhyped DAII before release.
As Bioware seem to have realised that part of DAII's great success should be attributed to nutbags like myself who gathered many fans by crowing out the merits of DAO...I'm glad they're heading in a new direction. I personally found the characters of DAII fantastic but the storyline absolutely shoddy...so I can understand anyone who wouldn't be willing to pay more for DAII products.
Legacy I think is a demonstration to old DAO fans that some of our protests fell on listening ears...so I'll just pop a mini review.
Played legacy - Great DLC. Very well thought out with puzzles, a tight storyline, plenty of party banter and good atmosphere. Loads of cutscenes which I found fantastic but some people might want more combat?...
If that Corypheus guy had been somewhat more related (*cough* reincarnate/trapped soul of a certain character with a little touching scene at the end?), it would have evoked a lot more emotion from me although I can understand it might have seemed a bit much after how some other characters died within the game.
Kind of wish legacy could only be done after DAII was completed which could allow for some more character interaction (reopen old romances/visit party etc) but this may come in the future - who knows. Bioware better keep those voice actors tied up to nearby bedposts for further work.
I hope DAII keeps heading in this direction, trimming the blubbery fat off to make a slim yet solid well designed game with a strong sense of direction. Strong over-arching plot? Like

Do I regret buying it? Nop
