This question really was tearing me up but I decided to go with Carver, Merrill (Love Interest), and Varric.

I haven't been able to use Carver in so long I just had to choose him.  Merrill is the LI so I felt obligated and Varric is, well, Varric.

I'll use Aveline, Anders, and Sebastian on the next run-through.

How about you?

I took Varric, Merrill and Aveline. I was a two handed warrior so this party made the most sense since I lost both Sebastian and Anders. Also lost all family members on that playthrough.

My next playthrough will be with my Rogue and I'll take Isabela, Fenris and Bethany who is in the Circle now.

My mage Hawke took Carver, Fenris and Anders but later on I switched Fenris with Aveline. I felt I needed a better tank to get thru the end which did the trick for me.

You just described my favorite party lol.  I almost picked Aveline over Carver but I haven't seen him since Act 1 so......  went with him.

Took my first Hawke (mage). His normal party is Aveline, Varric and Merrill. Howver, I swapped Aveline out for Carver on my first playthrough of Legacy.

I ran through with AxecObl's setup (except F!Hawke instead of M!). The banter alone was well worth it.

Same as mine. Loved Hawke doing "Carver's jig" or whatever, for Bethany 

Going to run my other Hawke with the same group though with Merrill instead of Izzy.

Mage!Hawke with Anders (LI), Carver, and Varric. Fantastic group, really. Everyone ties into the story, and Anders as the love interest gets some great unique dialogue that I wasn't anticipating and thus left me feeling all pleasantly surprised.

I took Rogue Hawke with Bethany (Warden), Anders and Fenris (LI). Pretty awesome. Fenris was more relevant than I imagined he'd be, though I wish I could have had Varric as well. Next time.

Took my Mage Hawke along with Anders, Varric, and Aveline. I really wanted to take Merrill since she was my LI that time around but I feel really bad leaving my healer out. Also left Carver to watch the bridge since I really dislike him. Probably won't play it on my warrior file since that one has that glitch where he becomes insanely slow (Isabella stacking issue or w/e) but for my Rogue i'll bring Anders, Bethany, and maybe Fenris just to hear the new banter.

I played this in Act 1 since I wasn't sure if Bethany could be selected after Act 1 (Still unsure now).

I chose Bethany, Fenris, and Isabela to go with my rogue Hawke.

Used 'runscript addtalent 308000' for Bethany though to add Spirit Healer spec.

She can, the Circle permitted her, as she was attacked by these thugs in the Gallows.

My warrior female Hawke took Anders (LI), Varric and Bethany.  I refuse to go into the Deep Roads without 2 Wardens! 

Plus I could sit here all night listening to Anders calling me 'love'!

Same here - made for a fantastic group, and probably the most plot-relevant.

Anders has a "special" moment in the DLC, so he's a must.
Sibling will get unique gear if they come along.
Varric will tell you the history of Hose Tethras if along at one point.

Meant to be played with these characters.
