Why not? Much of Obsidian is made up of former black isle employees. I'd rather see it in their hands than in the current Bioware's.

Hmmm....
I think I want another good D&D rpg.

As far as I know the BG Black Isle actually developed was a console one, which was ruddy awful, why would their influence in Obsidian be a plus?

Anyway, to me the bhaalspawn games belong to Bioware, a sequel made by someone else might as well be a different game entirely.

Somebody needs to rip the D&D license from Atari so they can't waste it anymore on projects like Daggerdale. I'm not expecting much from Cryptic's Neverwinter MMO either.

Or at the very least have Atari hand it to a good dev studio.

Kotor 3, Assassins Creed(A continuation of altair's story) and a sequel to DA:O(DA2 surely can't qualify as a sequel).

Revelations is going to tie in Ezio's story with Altair.  I'd say thats a continuation.

Sequels to Jade Empire, Alan Wake and Brutal Legend would be great, maybe HAWX 3 as well.

From the older titles, I wouldn't mind seeing a new Shining Force, Story of Thor or Grandia RPG, and entirely new takes on the Alisia Dragoon, Streets of Rage and Way of the Tiger IPs.

I want Dead Space 3! The story needs to continue. Plus, Fallout 4 would be nice, only if Bethesda makes it similar to FO3 and original FO.

Unless you want a Baldur's Massive Dragon Effect Gate: III, your only hope is for Obsidian to create the Baldur's Gate game. BioWare doesn't seem to get the picture that we (can't speak for all of you so I will just say I) don't want every game to be like Mass Effect.

CAPCOM VS SNK 3!!!!!!!

I don't think a modern day Capcom VS SNK game would work.  SNK's anime style for it's games looks terrible and wouldn't fit in well with Capcom characters.

How can it be similar to both Fo3 and the original. I do agree with Dead Space though hopefully no multiplayer is forced on it.

I think the Baldur's Gate series has run its course. A new adventure set in the Sword Coast is fine by me, but I felt the Bhaalspawn saga wrapped up nicely with Throne of Bhaal. Following that would jump the shark.

As for the console game, it was a blast. One of the best action games of its time. It was only horrible if you were expecting a traditional RPG. I took it for what it was: a Diablo-like click fest with lots of loot, monster slaying, and fun co-op foolery. Unlike the CRPG series, those games never had a proper finale too. I would actually want to see a BGDA3 before a BG3.

Just my two coppers.

Valkyria Chronicles (on the PS3, Xbox 360 and/or PC, no more PSP only crap).
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
Age of Mythology
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Knights of the Old Republic
Alpha Protocol
Darklands
Rome: Total War (though this is extremely likely to happen)
System Shock
Final Fantasy Tactics (The FFTA games are fine gameplay wise, but the story and tone have nothing on the original)
Lost Odyssey
Jedi Knight

Others too, but those are the only ones that immediately come to mind.

Unfortunately, Obsidian doesn't seem to be involved. Which is a shame.

I know a new bhaalspawn game would pretty much have to be two completely different games stuck together with the way ToB ended, but I still want it. It does have a good ending as it is now, but I just want more.. Any new party-based Forgotten Realms RPG could be brilliant, but the setting's only part of it. I never liked Icewind Dale as much as BG, it just feels a bit lifeless in comparison, not just the companions but all of the writing, and even having finished both I couldn't tell you what the story was. So even if a new BG wasn't a direct sequel to ToB, but more a seuqel like DA2 is to DAO, I'd want the same people working on it.

And as for the console BG, I guess awful was an overstatement, it was fun enough for what it was, but it's so far removed from the Bioware BGs in almost every way that I don't see why one would trust it's developers to make a bhaalspawn BG, all they really share is the name and the setting.

*sigh*

That joke's not even as funny now as it was the first time someone coughed it up.

Keep in mind Black Isle did Icewind Dale and Planescape.  They were perfectly capable of making Baldur's Gate style games, they just did something diffrent.

It just says it's going to be published by Bethesda no information on the development team is given.

Sword Coast is not a requirement. for a Baldur's Gate game. Baldur's Gate 3: the Black Hound was going to be set in Sembia/Dalelands.
