Sword Coast is not a requirement. for a Baldur's Gate game. Baldur's Gate 3: the Black Hound was going to be set in Sembia/Dalelands.

It should be a requirement. Otherwise the name has no meaning. I accepted it in "Shadows of Amn" as it revolved around the same protagonist, but a whole new game should not bear that title without including the eponymous city. That reeks of using name recognition for a marketing campaign.

This topic comes up now and again. i always say I want a sequel to "Crusader: No Remorse" and "Crusader: No Regret."

Now that would have been interesting, would they be able to pull it off to make a good game out of it?

I looooved Jedi Knight : Jedi Academy even though I would hardly call it an rpg. Heck at least the main character had a cool first and last name without being stuck with a predesigned character.

As for a good Lord of the Rings RPG, I'd be game, but sadly that probably won't happen in the near future.

It's going to be Half-Life 3. Valve said they are not using Episodic installments in any of their games anymore.

Why not? Much of Obsidian is made up of former black isle employees. I'd rather see it in their hands than in the current Bioware's.

As far as I know the BG Black Isle actually developed was a console one, which was ruddy awful, why would their influence in Obsidian be a plus?

Anyway, to me the bhaalspawn games belong to Bioware, a sequel made by someone else might as well be a different game entirely.

I think the Baldur's Gate series has run its course. A new adventure set in the Sword Coast is fine by me, but I felt the Bhaalspawn saga wrapped up nicely with Throne of Bhaal. Following that would jump the shark.

As for the console game, it was a blast. One of the best action games of its time. It was only horrible if you were expecting a traditional RPG. I took it for what it was: a Diablo-like click fest with lots of loot, monster slaying, and fun co-op foolery. Unlike the CRPG series, those games never had a proper finale too. I would actually want to see a BGDA3 before a BG3.

Just my two coppers.

I agree.  The BG games were great but there is so much other untapped potental in the worlds of d&d,    As long as they stay far away from any 4th bullcrap.  (i like 1st and 2nd myself, but could live with 3 and 3.5)

It would be noice if they gave the option for fully turn based and RtwP, though i don't know if that would be too much of a hassle for the developers. Since i never heard of that being done before.

There will never be a Half Life 3. Valve has made so much money off Portal and Left4Dead that they don't give a damn about the Half Life franchise anymore.

Team Fortress 2 was in developement for 9 years. Half Life 2 Episode was released in 2007. I don't see your point. Valve has the money to take all the time in the world to make their games and not having any publishers pushing them around Valve has all the freedom to make it's games.

The amount of money Valve has made through Steam has made them lazy. Maybe competition from Origin(the latest despot in the digital civil rights revolution against the fascist tyranny of DRM) will force Steam to re-think their priorities and actually finish the games they announce but I doubt it.

The difference being unlike Bioware they released highly polished games. Every time Valve has released a game the video game world takes notice. Like Blizzard people hold Valve in such reguard. The same can't be said for EA who are now taking down games from Steam for b.s reasons. Not that I care they only removed bad games like DA2 and Crysis 2 but still.

I for one hope Origin is successful. After all the competition should be good for us the consumer.

Actually, Vampire Masquerade sequel would be pretty awesome. Jade Empire 2. But I hope that they fix the enemy thing, you know, where the enemy has the ability to kill you. I had mental breakdowns after all the times I died and had to replay different cutscenes. I don't mind it if it's too easy if there is a puzzle or something that's hard to solve.

A real sequel to Final Fantasy XII. Revenant Wings does not count.

Freedom Fighters 2

Half-Life 3

Rogue Galaxy 2

The Godfather 3 (or a remake of 2, as that had potential)

Lost Odyssey 2.

Game titles are links to videos of previous games in their respective series =)

- Chrono Break (Chrono Trigger 4)
- Killer Instinct 3
- Dead Or Alive Xtreme 3
- A new Captain Tsubasa-type game for current platforms, cause football rpgs are the only good sports games!

QFT, Jedi Academy was awesome, especially over Xbox Live. I hope they revive that series someday.

A lot of people have mentioned Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines as one game for which they would love to see a sequel made.

If you haven't tried this game yet, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines is on sale via Steam for $4.99

Now is your chance to try this awesome game!

Jade Empire 2 and KoTOR 3 would be nice. I'd like a new Vampire The Masquerade RPG, and I'd really like a Fallout sequel with Fallout turn-based combat.
