Ok somehow I missed the Cowl of the Silent One how did I miss that I could have sworn I checked all over for everything I could. Is it beyond that room with the blue haze on the opening how do you get beyond that?

You have to solve the puzzle to get past those barriers.

Higg1077 to start the puzzle run back to the beginning of the level where you first were trapped but before you go back activate the things on the wall, you notice each one you activate has a different color. Basically activate the things on the wall and run back of the beginning of the level. The idea of the puzzle is the same as when you were trapped. Have fun.

Update:
- There is no reward for completing Malcolm's Will quest, if Carver is in your party.
- lvl. 25 stats for the staff: The Hawke's Key - 59 electricity damage, +4 magic

59!? Holy crap. We have a winner.

For a Rogue, what would you say is the best customization for the weapon?

Same for a Mage.

For upgrade 1, it's a negligible amount of damage anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

For upgrade 2, Ignore armor is by far the best for rogue and warrior weapons. For a mage, probably the attack speed.

For upgrade 3, the critical damage is worth more damage than the critical chance for all classes. Don't know what to think about the other mods, I guess if you like a small chance to stun or slowing your enemy (this modifier used to be bugged and INCREASED enemy speed by 25%, did the patch fix that?) it's not a big deal.

So if you complete Malcolm's Will with Carver in the party you get nothing? Doesn't that seem a little fishy? Could be a bug, perhaps. Have the Powers That Be weighed in on this at all?

No not yet. Does seem arbitrary and is probably an oversight. UNLESS there is something else you can obtain with Carver that no one has discovered. The belt is nothing to write home about, so no love lost from me either way.

Do you also think that the Legacy armor set is weaker than the champion armor set ?
Right now I am comparing mages sets, and I think that champion is bette. +2 magic dosen't make that difference and the champion set has more defence.

Also I see that the Hawks key is rubbish as a staff even fully upgraded. The Malcolm Honor from Mage item set (DLC) is better although dmg is little worse.

Neither set is very good, but Legacy is clearly better. Defense is a junk stat - 5% chance to dodge a melee swing is not better than 9% dmg resistance and 140 more armor (armor = dmg resistance). The set bonus gives 10% damage too which at least is useful. Only downside is two less rune slots. The point is moot if you have Black Emporium, since Robes of Unblemished Cleanliness are better by itself than either chestpiece+bonus. Also, Apostate's Mask is still the best helm in the game if you have the Mage Item Pack DLC.

For Staff attacks, it will always depend on the enemy you're facing - double damage from a lesser +40 staff will trump either staff, especially if that staff (eg. The Final Thought, Torch of Falondin) has a Primeval Lyrium Rune.

However, Hawke's Key is by far the best in the game for casting spells. Base damage is the most important stat. Malcolm's has 16% crit, 3% crit damage versus Hawke's Key with only 9% crit damage, but that's the only thing in its favor. In that sense, having it on hand to swap for a barrage of spells could be considered useful all the time (PC players at least can download a weapon swap mod).

Still don't have the two items I'm thinking of :) Someone did find the supersecret in another thread this morning though but I don't think they've spilled the beans just yet.

Does the trick of improving items from DAO works here too ? I believe that the answer is no.

You might have a point in comparison when we are talking level 25 set, but many people might go on the first ocasion so champion set will win.

Rofl, the need to mention this is asinine. The only reasonable comparison between armor sets is to set both of them to equal levels. Given equal levels, Legacy "wins" by a healthy margin. To say Champion set "wins" because you got your Legacy set at level 10 has no useful information.

But what gives you legacy if you get it at the end of the game ? You finished the game, then you go for legacy in order just to have it. It might go to other dlcs and maybe expansion, but maybe expansion will strip you from items just like Awakening did.

I guess there will be mods popping out that will change the legacy armor to have always max values.

Does anyone else find the customizable staff upgrades and the mage armor to be rather... Underwhelming?? I mean, compared to several other staves, Hawke's Key seems rather lackluster aside from the massive damage.

The armor, on the other hand, is ok. The one problem that I find with the armor is that why bother equipping the whole set (with the bonus 10% elemental damage) when you can equip the Robes of Unblemished Cleanliness for +24% elemental damage.

If you wait until you get to Act 3 to get the Legacy set, I think the max you can get before Act 3 is level 21. So comparing level 21 or 22 Legacy to Champions, Legacy wins by a healthy margin. If however, say you get to Act 3 at level 17, the Champions may indeed be better. So in terms of which one could help your playthrough more, it depends on a few things.

See my post a few posts up. The armor is definitely lackluster, but the Key is the best staff in the game for spell damage.

Hint about the two super secret items. Pick up "Warm Orb" in the Carta base and backtrack to Vimmark Wastelands.

The amulet is pretty damn awesome for a mage.
