I enjoyed it
Liked that you had to choose a warden to side with and the party banter was funny as always.
Also nice that Hawke didn't know a thing about wardens and the calling.
Liked the genlock alphas (meaning I HATEDDD them, as you should, stupid shields)
Love my new armour and the scene with sibling/mother.
Storyline was good and open to continuation in another DLC.
But I love bioware anyway. They make great games.

Couldn't agree more. I'm still not sold on the idea of Hawke versus choose your own Hero of Ferelden (which is kind of ironic, given that I can't imagine playing Mass Effect as anyone other than Shepard), but Legacy is a shining example of the kind of storywriting you can get when you combine "everyone plays the same character" with the greater world that Bioware created for the Dragon Age series.Noob451 wrote...
Just finished Legacy, although it was on the short side, I did have a lot of fun with it and found the story very interesting.... I'm wondering how/if this relates to the story of awakening.

Could have been longer and I would have liked to be able to get finish the new armour set earlier in the DLC, but those are relatively minor beefs. On the whole, it was very well done. Bravo, Bioware.

Surely I was not the only person who got all tingly when Anders name drops "The Warden Commander" and the decision made in Awakening. It was a nice touch since the situation mirrored that expansion.

I loved the encounters, particularly both of the Alphas and the final boss. I also liked the puzzle, particularly since I suspect I missed something the first time around, which is a good quality in a puzzle.
The armor is fantastic, although I am less enthusiastic about the Key. I liked that I got to choose how the key evolved, but I'm just not big on how the model looks for the Greatsword and Staff. The armor is just amazing looking, regardless of class. If we play wardens in DA3, they need to put this armor in.

Interesting. Almost makes me wish I hadn't apparently whacked Anders during my playthrough.<_<Mongerty2 wrote...

yeah. There's aaaaaaall sorts of interesting stuff with Anders - he's well worth bringing along if you can.
I'm really going to have to see what the other party banter options are in this thing, though, since it sounds like there's a whole lot of good stuff in here.

I really loved the outdoor areas-- having been in a similarly dry, dusty environment (Egypt, to be specific) I can say they definitely got the atmosphere across. I kept craving a tall glass of cold water.
Also, can I just say it was wonderful to play through a completely different set of maps? 8D I hope future DLCs add to the world's depth and story in the way that Legacy did.

I'm surprised no one else has commented on how beautiful this DLC is, aesthetically speaking! I'm definitely going to go back in and cap like crazy the next time I play through this quest. There's a lot of nice setting stuff with the lighting and other little details that I'd like to go over again.

Totally agree. The new art style really came into it's own in this game, props also to the cinematic guys/gals as I thought the cut scenes were fantastic.
I played on nightmare and found it pretty tough. All in all my playtime came in at just under seven hours, so well, well worth the money for me. The relationship between Carver and Hawke (great IMO in the main game) was fantastic. I loved the final scene - kudos to the writers as well. Just brilliant.

By Wardens I mean every living character from the past, you arrive in the mountains to find Sigrun (Who upon arrival Varric calls Bianca and she says that was never her name "I've had enough of pervy dwarves for one lifetime) and seeing Oghren behind her. Off to one side is the Architect and some of his disciples, Nathanial and Zevran keeping watch from a tower. In the center of the camp stands Stroud who passes on the Warden Commanders orders to you and lays out the battle plan for the assault on the prison.
All the former characters talk and banter. The player is informed two teams will spear head the assault on the prison, one warden team and Hawke and his chosen companions. Hawke than chooses his team and chooses which Wardens to assist him and what role they will play. Gameplay becomes switches between the teams leap frogging up the tower to Corypeus, with the final show down being similar to the Meredith fight with companions and wardens appearing over time. Corypheus goes down and you are awarded a suit of Warden armor.
The war Corypeus started is destroying world, what his ultimate goal was is unknown, hinted it might be to become a new kind of god. Stroud explains that the Warden Commander couldn't be here because Valenna (or another warden if dead) had found another of the Architects kind and the Warden took her and some other Wardens to deal with him in Orlais, giant set up for DA3.

Having just finished it (6 hours
-The new areas were beautiful and thoughtfully designed, the enemies were interesting and over all proved a nice challenge, especially the end fight, hats off on that one, very impressive.
-The dialogue was stellar, as was the sheer amount of it, also little things like the new party banter, always a plus, the little things that tie it together.
-A new class speciffic weapon is always cool, I thought the customising was done reasonably well, in some ways I wanted more say in the outcome (like what kind of auto-attack damage the staff would do etc) but the way it was done was satisfactory still.
-The story of course, was very engaging to the end, AND satisfying a lot of community speculation about Corypheus and The Architect being Magisters-turned-original-darkspawn, very very cool
Eagerly awaiting what comes next.
