I think the only problem with how Miranda's Ice Queen thawed was how seemingly quick it was. It should have been slower imo with maybe some words of praise to show that she's cracking, but as it was you do a mission like recruit someone and then she's instantly going: "Wow, TIM was completely correct about you, you're freakin' awesome mate!"

I was let down by her predictable "melting" (especially if shep decides to destroy CB) too.

The prejudicial streak makes her more real to me. I could see myself being like that if I was in the Mass Effect universe. Same with Tali. As much as I like Legion, I have always understood Tali's motivation for being suspicious of them. They drove her species of their homeworld, that kind of thing can't be forgiven overnight. Likewise, Ashley's grandfather was disgraced because of an alien attack. She's never met an alien before ME1.

I think what Kaidan said during ME1 shows that Ashley is a few steps behind him and Shep in terms of a mature opinion about aliens. All she knows is what she's been told. Like I said, a very real character.

It's weird how she and Jacob switch personalities post freedom's progress. She ends up being the more friendlier one while Jacob becomes the brooder who doesn't want to talk about anything.

The pace was actually pretty coherent with how fast the plot moved. Especially if you take her with you on the Collector Ship, and she sees the evidence that TIM set you up, just to get intel on the Collectors. You can see that, as well as her Loyalty Mission, putting the first cracks in the ice.

Heh, that's a problem in itself imo.

I definitely agree with that though, but still it's hard for me to gauge just how much ingame time has passed. I like how I don't have to sit there for 4 hours before she starts to thaw, but just in game (measuring by real time) it felt to quick.

I try to calculate the travel times we were given in ME1 (can't remember where they were, but they were there). Just add a day every time you travel between star clusters, and six to twelve hours between every mission. Makes a lot more sense.
