Got something like this for my Hawke who's romancing Merrill:

Bethany: You're a cute couple. Do you have petnames?
(sarcastic) Hawke: What, like Little Griffon and Baby Dragon?
Merrill: Oh, definetly a griffon. You can't really pet a dragon can you? They're all scaly.
Bethany: I kind of feel sorry for asking...

Merrill: You should tell a story about a heroic gryphon swooping in to save the day.
Varic: I thought you would have known this by now Daisy, but swooping is bad.
Merrill: Oh.
Varic: But heroically charging in, that I can work with.
Merrill: Oh thank you. Can you also make him fluffy?

Do the party banter triggers work like normal? i.e. if you leave the area and come back you can trigger more banter?

I've just started to take one of my new Hawke's through during Chapter 1, Warrior Hawke with Bethany, Aveline and Isabela. Only just coming up to the first keystone, but had some fun banter already.

Was interesting to see it acknowledge which chapter I was in when I got this beauty, whilst making way towards the entrance to the Prison.
(paraphrased as can't remember the exact wording)
Bethany: Aren't we supposed to be getting funds for our trip to the Deep Roads.
*pause*
Bethany: We could've just brought Bartrand along with us here



Also whilst above, a bit of banter between Isabela and Aveline (interestingly enough just as I was about to click on the first 'viewpoint' (the one on the surface which has a cut-scene showing the top of the prison).

(paraphrased again)
Isabela: I spy, with my little eye, something the color of red.
Aveline: Ugh!
Isabela: Can you guess what it is, it also begins with A
Aveline: Shut up.
Isabela: Oh, my mistake it's now more like such a B
Aveline: Now is not the time for this whilst we're in this mess
Isabela: Oh really well it's turned from a B to a real C

Agree, the new banter is great. This so far is my favorite, between Varric and Sebastian.

Seb: I’ve…read some strange rumors about a "belt buckle of righteousness."
Varric: Did you hear the one about how it foretells the future of your pants, or how it burns its expression into the faces of sinners?
Varric: The pants one is my favorite. Has more pathos.

I love Sebastian's tone of voice as he says "belt buckle of righteousness" like he feels uncomfortable even saying it, and really isn't sure he wants to know...

I was disappointed in the banter for one reason:

Not enough Fenris.

No acknowledgement of the romance in an Act 3 save. Nothing from him after "Malcolm's Will". Not even a peep when Corypheus is all "I'm a Tevinter Magister; fear me!" For that matter, maybe he wasn't quite awake yet, but Cory completely missed the fact that there was a short, pointy-eared guy in the party. I felt like I could have left him and not missed anything of substance.

The banter was brilliant and such a welcome surprise. No-one writes better banter than the DA team, and I was happy to realize it didn't just cover the usual banter topics of DA2 (mages, templars, mirrors, etc.), but had random topics as it had in DAO, companions flirting with eachother, acknowledging Hawke's LI, etc. It just made it so much more personal and was hilariously funny. I started a 2nd Legacy playthrough just to hear what I missed.

I think my favorite so far has been in the opening dialogue of the DLC, with Varric, Snarky Hawke, and GW Carver.  Varric and Snarky Hawke are joking around as usual, and Carver attempts to join in with a strange joke.

Hawke: I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding.  We'll have tea and laugh about it later.
Varric: "Oh, your name is Hawke!  We thought it was 'Locke'!"
Carver: "We were looking for some other combination of general and ringmaster."
Hawke and Varric: ::exchange a look::

Carver: So, you and Merril, huh?
Fem Hawke: Merril and I, yes.
Carver: Good for you.

And this is the problem with my playthrough except with Sebastian.  Reading all these things said and my Sebby barely spoke which really ticks me off. 

What did I do wrong, bring the wrong people?  Varric and Aveline never shut up the entire time ....

It made me laugh knowing the big balm, and it made me laugh harder when Anders tried to prove Carver right, again.

This changes if Anders is romanced.

Anders: It must wear on you, given your lineage. No wonder you're quiet.
Carver: My sister cares for you. I'm quiet for her sake. (says something else, but I don't remember)

Fenris did have a comment about Corypheus, he was all, "It's an original Tevinter magister, kill, kill, kill!" Maybe one of the other companions you brought with you overrode Fenris's comment? Fenris spoke quite a lot in my playthrough (I had him, Beth and Aveline).

 I got Circle Bethany being happy about being in the Circle, which boggles Anders' mind.

There is, for Merrill at least (the banter I posted in this thread was for my female rogue who romanced Merrill). Doesn't seem to have anything for Isabela though, save for the bit about 'being naked' at Hawke's mansion in the first conversation (haven't played through the dlc with my Hawke who romanced Izzy tho, so there might be more).
