I posted this in another thread just commenting on the good story of the DLC and thought that this might warrent a disscussion.

I think, by the look on his face, his eyes and even the tone of his voice, that Larius didn't
regain his sanity but was possessed by Corypheus at the moment of his
death or after, maybe through the connection of the tainted blood.

What do you guys think of the possibility of this and if you think so, how and do you think we will see him agian either in another DLC or DA3.

Possession was my first thought when he was suddenly lucid after the battle. I could see that as the basis for another DLC, maybe where Hawke finds out that Larius/Corypheus is trying to raise his god Dumat as a new archdemon, and has to prevent it.

Ok I havent played this yet, but unless a major retcon happened Dumat was the first Arch demon to get whacked in a blight. That would be hard to bring him back. I'm even carrying parts of his body as weapons on my main warden heh.

I definitely think Larius may have become possessed. I was actually kind of disappointed I couldn't call him on it in-game.

Play it you will understand his thoughts.

Exactly LOL, I haven't played yet with any Grey Wardens, Anders or Sibling yet, but I'm sure they would know if the taint would make him like that normaly or if it could have "went away" after we killed big C.

If you pick Janeka (the female warden) in the end she says "I feel like... a whole new person". Not ominous at all...

It's heavily implied. Note how they also acquire Corypheus's speech patterns.

I did think of that, yes. The whole last scene with him just didn't feel "right", if you get what I mean.

That was definitely my interpretation as well. And considering others have said that the same thing happens with the Warden mage, I have to believe this isn't the last we've seen of Cory...

He said his mind was clear after Corypheus died, but shouldn't the Old Gods song still be driving him mad?

Its BioWare however. Despite hinting at more to come or giving you an ominous choice at the end of a game/DLC, when have those choices EVER come back as a major consequence in future content? They don't - BioWare is all about giving you choices that, if any consequence follows, its more than likely railroaded to one point.

How many people were saying the same thing after Origins with Morrigan and the OGB? Or Awakening with the Architect?

Of course, it seems this DLC is more about simply giving the illusion of choice, since the "possession" seems to happens no matter what, so its not much of a choice/consequence at all, really.

I think he's possessed.

It's even more obvious if you side with Janeka, since she says "I feel like a... WHOLE NEW PERSON!" in a very suspicious voice.

I felt that one line was less in your face than the entire end conversation with Larius.

For me the suspicion came less from what he said and more from the look on his face - that sort of sly, contented smile. That wasn't the look of someone free from torment. That was the look of someone waking to a newness of body and power.

This. Right before the scene cuts back to Varric and Cassy, I was thinking "oh ****, there really is something wrong with him".

Yeah I thought at the end with Cassy she would have said "So he didn't know he released Corypheus" or something like that.

What do you mean? Bioware is great at that, at least look at ME1 - 3. I have a feeling for sure in DA3 or maybe but not likely another DLC, will bring back some story points from Origins and Kirkwall.

You have to remember story wise OGB would only be... maybe 4 years old, and its only been what.. 3 years since Awakening.

This isn't a choice, though. Either Janeka or Larius are implied to have been possessed by Corypheus, no matter what you do. If they wanted to follow him up later, they have a concrete worldstate to work with. It's not like the OGB where the choices would lead to completely different worldstates.

Oh good, it wasn't just me, then. I kept waiting for a "Wait! You haven't fooled me!" option, and was mildly surprised when it never occured. Hope this is going to be readdressed at some point, assuming I'm not just being paranoid and neurotic.

Pretty clear he was. If my Hawke wasn't stupid, I'd kill him but...

Plus, there's ominuous music when he drawls out "i thank you for... my freedom"

Yeah, I forgot about that. Jeeze, Hawke can't swing a dead cat without putting the world in peril.

My thoughts exactly.  I felt so bad for Hawke after that. I was like....   Poor girl can't quite catch a break.

Oh hell yes, he's possessed, or at least touched by Corpy. Corpy's eyes change just before he dies. Laius begins to speak differently as well. I'm going with the possessed idea for now.

Changed the title so it doesn't spoil anything specific.

Remember that you need to be a Warden to kill an Archdemon, the Warden must do the killing blow. Maybe it's the same thing with Cory? He transferred his essence to the closest darkspawn that ended up being Larius.
