Hi,
I am on the fence about buying the new Legacy DLC and I was wondering if I can play it with a character that I already finished the main story with. I finished the game with a really cool mage that I spent 45 hours playing and I want to use him to play this DLC. I'm pretty sure that my existing saves are during the final quest and I don't want to have to start a new character just to play this. If that ends up being the case, I will most likely not be downloading this new quest.
Please help out a fellow Dragon Age fan!

Yes, you can. I used my first Hawke that I made when the game came out. No need to make a new game.

When you finish the main campaign, you get a 'Post-Campaign' save that when fired up has Hawke at the estate, so you'll be able to play the DLC with that Hawke.
I really enjoyed my first playthrough of Legacy which was with a post-campaign Hawke.

Yes, just fire up your post-campaign Hawke and get to it. You can go to the Black Emporium and to the quest only though, and any future story DCL I'm guessing. Good luck and have fun, it's a great story and will be worth playing more than once for different party combinations and different "groups" your sibling is with (Grey wardens, mages, templars) just for the banter. I'm also guessing Mage Hawke has more/different reactions than rouge/warrior Hawke, I'm starting second DLC play with my Act 2 game Hawke Mage (first was rouge).

So if your Hawke shanked Anders at the end of the main campaign, you can still have him in your party for the DLC?

I don't think so, I let Anders live so I could have brought him with me, same if Seb left, I couldn't take him.

I played through with my end game rogue hawke. I spared Anders and lost Sebastian because Sebastian got pissy that I let Anders live. So no he wasn't available for the DLC but Anders was. If I play with my mage Hawke next time I probably will have Sebastian available because I probably will be playing the DLC towards the end of the main campaign.
Firefirebelow has it correct if you shank Anders at the end of the main campaign you don't have him for the DLC the same goes for Sebastian if you let Anders live. If you do the DLC before you end the main Campaign you can have both though.

Yep, both Anders and that Tevinter Elf who's name I can't remember were missing in my playthrough.firefireblow wrote...

Which is kind of strange, because I thought I spared Anders...
I have to say, though... The story seems geared more to come after the events of DAII, but the gear seems meant more for a mid-game playthrough. Consider what's required to get the final piece of the new warrior armour set, for example.

I never did find the full set. Where is the helm?

You have to activate some of the "power generator" things, and then go back to the room with the streams. Just connect all 3 and you can get to it.

Thanks, I thought the 'power generators" had to do with the blocked off area with the blue and red doors you could not walk through. Do you know anything about that?Mongerty2 wrote...

Never mind, I got it.

Thanks for the feedback everybody! I'm glad that I'll be able to get some more time out of this game. Gotta say that I'm pretty impressed with the timeliness of the responses, too.
I was totally unaware of the post-game save being usable, so this is very good news to me.

If you shanked him and load a post campaign, alas he's gone unless you load up something prior to that.
I'd suggest this DLC if you are playing Dragon Age 2 still as it can be a nice break from everything.

When you find an orb, go back as far as you can toward the beginning of the dlc, to find a fun fight too. If you have the Key you missed it.
