Seemingly due to Legacy violating the new Steam Terms of Service, I'm at work now hope I can still access DA2 on Steam:

Solution: Buy the "Dragon Age II" DVD/CD from Best Buy.

No more fussing about online services being dropped or changed.

Its that simple.

The real question is, why you dumbasses unlucky individuals use digital clients in the first place.

Retail ftw.

Oh hey look. Someone insulting others on the internet for trivial things. You never see that anymore.

DRM exists because people refuse to not steal, while the anti-DRM crowd are having a hissy I shall be playing and enjoying the games. Whether thats having to log in to play, using Steam or using EA Origin makes no difference to me. It's a game, not my sole reason for living.

The only real question imho is what about this deal/contract they have with GoG about EA titles vs Origin. Guessing they won't list their old titles on Origin if already contracted to sell on GoG unless isn't exclusive. Then again makes little difference to me the consumer what I use to buy or where from, like always I'll go use the cheapest service or product that legally sells it as digital download. If can't get on steam then get on Origin, if cant get on Origin then get on Direct2Drive, if can't get on there then see if GoG has it and if again can't get on there maybe Gamersgate. Although I prefer retail copies becuase let's face it boxes are <insert awesome pun> with touchy feely manuals and pretty shiny little discs. If I then have to load some additional software, so be it; my world isn't going to come crashing down around me because of that.

<<< Awaits the retaliation of the self righteous rage patrol for not being in the hissy crowd about having to log in to play something or install some silly little application. If bought from Steam and pulled for (any) reason then EA would try to get it resolved or supply the product themselves via their own client, if you don't like their client and only wish to use Steam so don't accept that sort of resolution then thats your fualt so no sympathy. But EA everytime I have spoke to them (not just read faqs and websites but actually speak to them via webclient or phone) they are extremely good and fast I have found in resolving issues. This is not to say I like how much influence they have over developers titles direction.

Enjoy. There are plenty of other games coming out that dont feel the need to inconvenience their customers with intrusive, ancilliary and pointless software. Like you, my world isn't going to come crashing down around me if I don't play Diablo III or Battlefield.

So out of curiosity, will the steam version of DA2 still be patched, or are we screwed in the future. :P

^^^ This. Can someone, perhaps Mr. Barrett, comment on this? Will those of us that own the game on Steam still receive patches for it?

Is ANY version gonna get patched is a better question:?
