Thessia has had millions of years to adapt. Earth hasn't.
We have a planet which is cited to have been contaminated by hundreds of star ships being destroyed near it, many of which fell to the planet and spilled eezo into the environment. "A wave of extinctions" followed.
Fine, **** it. I give up.
I'm going to remember this tactic the next time somebody tries to cite a source for something in Mass Effect.
The best tactic would be to simply just move away from the planet, if you want to avoid eezo contamination, but whatever.

Not an option. The further away from the planet you get the wider your net needs to be (your net is to catch and destroy Reapers). As the neet gets wider it becomes easier to slip through and more and more Reapers will escape.

So...blocking the Reapers? Yeah, that worked so well in the past.
And since there's no up, down, left or right in space, trying to block their paths would just be a waste of time. And ships.

This is a non-issue for the discussion at hand. The effects of eezo pollution is a secondary issue that will be dealt with after the Reapers are defeated. It will not be an issue until then in any case, as we are presuming that destroyed Reapers will be the primary source of eezo pollution. Not an option. Your understanding of natural selection and evolution is woefully inadequate, especially considering that you tried to accuse me of not understanding the principals involved. Thessia is not cited as what Earth will become, it was cited because evolution around eezo contamination is possible. Combine this with genetic engineering, isolation of heavily contaminated areas, and damage control, so the issue, while still severe, is no longer catastrophic.

That's why you need to be close to the planet to fire on them before they can go int FTL and escape.

A lot of that pollution will come from destroyed friendly ships as well.

Been trying to reason this with Saphra for a few posts now. The OP put contamination of the planet as the top reason as to why Earth should be abandoned and we should give up the fight against the reapers. All things aside, this theory is easily debunked because we have the history of our planet as a whole, documented cases where this is not the case within the game, and only one specific incidence in the entire lore of the game which would support Saphra's theory (incidence being Eingana, and the Theory being mass extinction of a planet). I am beginning to think that it is not possible to sway her with facts and logic.
All other arguments about Eezo aside, it is ridiculous to think that we should not fight the Reapers just because we might contaminate our Planet. Even if Earth was lost, I think that the continuation of every species in the galaxy and the end of the cycle of extermination would be a good enough reason to fight. Any General or War Tactician will tell you that in War, these are called acceptable losses.

I have two sources. Eingana and the Cerberus exposures that created modern human biotics.
What sources have you got that it is harmless?
No, you have a source that states there's a correlation between fetus death or development of biotic tendencies (and this is corrobated by different entries), but not a source that states that eezo exposure can cause an extinction level event.
Those aren't the same thing.
Now, I'm personally of the mind that eezo, being as foreign as it is is obviously going to have a negative impact on species that do not have an evolved response to it, but even I have to sort of treat that an extinction level event from it to be a bit of an extreme nature. And one that you can certainly take steps during because it isn't going to all come crashing down at you at once.

Eingana.
The games and novels talk about the consequences of the eezo exposures and those were just exposures from a single ship being destroyed.
So I really don't understand why you are insisting I have no sources for anything.
I'm honestly a little baffled by it.

No problem. I'd look for it but Im not in the habit of looking for 4 month old posts. The dev also said that they'll explain how it will happen in the coming months, so it seems to happen in an unorthodox way. That got me thinking and maybe we won't be playing as Shepard after the ending and be something similar to how Red Dead Redemption did it.

It probably won't be like that for everyone. I'm sure there's a possible ending in which Shepard survives.

Indeed, I will have to be content with convincing the majority of the audience, as opposed to swaying Saphra.

Ugh...eff Jack Marston...that ending would have worked if RDR was a movie,it would have been Oscar gold, but in a video game where you spend 20+ hours loving a character and in ME 100+ hours, well the size of the SS that would befall these forums....Implications unpleasant.ThePwener wrote...

Most likely. I myself want to take over Cerberus and become the new TIM. In which case I would willingly give the SR-2 to Garrus and play as him with his own skills and armor for the duration of the UNC missions.
Pretty neat if I say so myself.

Can you believe I hated John until the end but keep playing the game 100% complete just for Jack? The game would have been better with only Jr. who has a better personality and voice acting in my opinion.

Swaying crowd of thoughtless peons isn't much of an accomplishment.
There is no logic or reason in your arguments. Your entire position hinges on ignoring the most important source that I constructed my argument from.
If you want to just ignore anything that contradicts you then you can believe anything you want.

I want ME4 to take place at least 800 years in the future, where our choices would have become irrelevant and all canons are possible.

I, on the contrary, don't want an ME4 at all. Although I would welcome other spinoffs.
