This could take months. Do you really think the Reapers will stand by and let you do that? Assuming you even succeed there is a good chance you won't kill a single Reaper with it. It won't improve your odds either. Earth will just be the first of countless garden worlds put to the sword.

For a guy who thinks that Humanity cannot continue without the Earth, you are quite quick to think that Humanity can continue in the Reaper form. Where is logic? Consistensy?

It looks logical and consistent to me. "Humanity" will survive as a Reaper, it just won't be the humanity you know and love. It will be a construct with human DNA incorporated into it that will presumably at least know where it came from.

The alternative is having our atoms scattered by the cosmic winds.

What, exactly, do you feel is illogical or inconsistent in my view?

Saphra did you really need 2 threads detailing how screwed humanity/the galaxy is? Really one thread of "reapers are OP GG noobs! Earth is doomed!" is enough. Image IPB

Well, unfortuantly Bioware moved themselfs into a positions that the only way earth isn't going to be doomed, is through the Magic of retcons.

Its still worth a try, maybe the Galaxy will be united and have a lasting peace, maybe the Batarians will stop being dicks about Humans.

Well I realized there was another layer to the situation and it was one accutely related to ME3. I also wanted to put the thread where more people would read it and would be able to post in it. Only registered ME2 owners can post in its old location.

Fair enough. Can't be a proper doomsayer if only a select few can read it.

"A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it,bearing within him the image of a cathedral."

Shepard is that (wo)man.Until we play the game no one knows how we beat them, what if they write in a way to beat the reapers that comes in from left field, will you cry retcon when we win?

Oh ye of little faith.

Oh, and a crushing defeat isn't as boringly predictable?

How many games have you played where you can't win? Other than say, Space Invaders.

Come to think of it, that is precisely why we shouldn't be able to win in ME3. It'll be a homage to Space Invaders. We keep killing Reapers but there are always more and they descend faster and faster until they get through.

Think about how fun it would be.

The game would start off desperate but hopeful. We'd start to gather momentum... but then our plans start to fail one by one. Armies are scattered, worlds go dark. One by one our allies are whittled away until it is just us, fighting not to survive the war, but to survive another moment... right until the end.

The only Bioware can make us win is to make the Reapers totaly ineffective, we allready got a taste of this in Mass effect 2, and from what i've seen so far Mass Effect 3 smells like more of it.

Replay value would be dropped to nil...they are probably going to have a total loss scenario for the losers renegades and base savers, etc ...but for the rest of us I'll take my cliche.

No, because Pluto's a hero the galaxy deserves, but not one it will need in the future. So we'll send it into the Charon relay because it can take it. Because Plutos's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. The first Plutoid. :bandit:

I agree with everything Bogsnot said. Plenty of people have put forward rational arguments, you just refuse to see them. There was another thread about the Quarian-Geth situation where you did the same thing, so I can't say I'm overly surprised.

This!

That kind of only works if most or all of the reapers are in the Sol system,if you have played arrival you would know this...

That, and there wouldn't be a good enough reason for most people to even play the game, since the majority of them are going to want to kick some Reaper ass, not go up against an enemy they know they can't defeat.

At the top of my head?

Th entire F.E.A.R series, Dead Space 1 & 2, Star Wars: The Forced Unleashed 1 & 2, God of War 3, Gears of War 2, the list goes on.

I never felt that I completely won the day in those games.

You should start a group...The flat earth society,it's great that your steadfast in your ways, the problem is you try and convince everyone else they are wrong, you've turned telling everyone else what they beleive is wrong into a religion, you go from topic to topic trying to prove personal beliefs and opinions other then your own are factually, and logically incorrect,ME3 isn't going to be tailored to only your liking, the sooner you understand that some people like winning or overcoming impossible odds the easier it will be on you when the game comes out.

I don't consider misinformed arguments to be credible ones. I suppose they are rational, if you are too ignorant to see the glaring flaws in them, however.

It's not about what i'm my liking, its more about what keeps this game consistent to it's own established lore, and how saving earth is going to contradict it.
