Of course do they not evolve with you. Bioware wants to sell the Item Pack DLCs.

Fun conspiracy theory, but I'm pretty sure the Item Pack items also stop evolving at level 25.

Yeah but I think what Jorina is probably referring to is the fact that if you do the DLC in Act 1, then you won't be using it for too long.

*shrugs* that issue doesn't bother me, I just see it like some of the Origin gear that would've been nice to see have level up functionality on it but they didn't... prime example being the Cousland Shield, one of these days am gonna do that playthrough I say am gonna do with a S&S Human Noble and even though it'll be weak in comparison to other Shields I could be using when I meet Rendon Howe, I'll still equip that and bash him in the face with it

As for the 'Key' for the Act 1 playthrough (S&S Warrior Hawke) am doing right now, if/when I have no further use for it, I shall put it in the storage box as a reminder of what to that Hawke of what his Father had done. Same with the Armor. I've got a 2H Warrior Hawke who post-campaign not done it yet with and she has a suit of Templar Armor in her storage that I doubt I'd probably never have her wearing again unless it seemed appropriate.

The gear is fine if you do the DLC late act 2 to early act 3. You wont replace the outfit itself until you get all the peices of the Champion set. The Champion gear is supposed to be final tier, and thus no dlc content is going to ever be better. As for the armor itself scaling with level, eh. You're missing out on stuff by wearing the same items all the way through an act. As well, there's already an item pack dlc. Which doesn't scale either. The weapons do( The S/S set, The daggers, The Staff, The bow), but not the armor. There's an armor set for act one, and an armor set for act two. Do the new DLC at the end of act two (before the quinari) or right at the start of act three, and you'll have a armor set that carries you till you've got all your champions armor.

It's not rocket surgery folks ;p

My level 24-25 mage got armor that was BETTER than the Champion set, and the bonus is +10% to damage types as a complete set bonus.  So while you think the Champions set is best, it would depend on when you get the gear.

Nope, they keep on evolving after lvl.25.

When I compared the Item Pack Mage Staff vs. The Key Staff. The Key Staff was more damage than the Item Pack one by a steady amount. In fact the Key Staff was even stronger than a Evolving Modded version of Staff of Parlathon. The only thing the Key weapons lack compared to some Evolving weapons is the missing of Sockets for runes. But that is a marginal min/maxing thing. It is sort of lame that it's generated at the time of getting it. But I also thought it was lame that the Item Pack Armor sits at static levels. Though I still have my characters wear them depending on the look I feel like going with.

P.S.,
I'm not at home right now but the max level mage Key was like 102 Electricity Damage at lvl 50. If I recall correctly.

I would be interested in screenshots of the great-sword key if anybody has any. I'm kinda picky about how my weapons look, and I particularly don't like over-sized and cartoonish.
