do the sebastians armour actually add the armour to games without the DLC though? because that for me is the 'moral' problem with mods to do with DLC, re-textures i dont see a problem with as you still need to have bough the item to get the re-texture its the 'here is DLC that cost money to make for free' that is the problem.
this said, i dont see any problem with TMP being aloud to put the armour into DAO as really there is not really a difference between putting the warden armour from DA2 in, and putting the warden armour from the DLC in.

anyone get the model name for the male version of beth's warden robe? With just the name, we should be able to make the current mods male compatible without cracking into the file and including meshes, so it shouldn't be a legal problem. That way, only people with legacy will have access to the meshes.

It's the same as the female model, which is why Beth's robes suddenly show up on male characters. Any new item that uses that model variation should work fine for male characters, as long as Legacy is installed.

Yes they are. I'm sorry if I came across as putting forth a theory. I meant there to be no question. I know for a fact, because 1) I've worked with previous DLC files and 2) I've spoken to Lapis herself about it.

So, there is a way to export .gda files from Legacy's ERF?

Yes. The same way one does it with previous encrypted DLCs. I'm sure I said that already o.O

Hi Ish, have you tried it?

The model variation is the same, yes, but not the mesh name. A new robe set using the model variation number is fine, but what I'm trying to do is NOT overwrite the original textures. If you just make it refer to the model variation in the uti, it works for a male, but applies those textures to Janeka and Beth's robes - I want to avoid that. Referring to the wrba mesh in the mmh file doesn't work. I'm thinking it must have a different name.

Sorry if that comes off as rude, that's not the intention, I'm just curious if you've had any luck making it work?

Ah, I see what you're getting at. You need a new model variation, then. You'd need a new .mmh and a new .mao. The .mao would be the same, just pointing to your new texture, and the .mmh would also be the same, just pointing to your new .mao. Both would have to have unique filenames, of course, and then you'd add a new entry to item_variations with your new .mmh as the model name.

That should be enough information for you to start experimenting on your own to get it working properly, but if you run into any trouble, I think I could whip up the proper files for you.

The best part of it is that your .mmh references the .msh so you don't have to include it. That way, you're not redistributing Legacy assets, and only people with Legacy will have the model your .mmh would be looking for.

Sorry if that comes off as rude, that's not the intention, I'm just curious if you've had any luck making it work?

Don't worry about it, you didn't come across as at all rude :) And while I've really had no inclination to attempt any of it on my own, I totes know how I'd do it, so I preserve my image of omniscience :P

Hi Ish, thanks, it was that process you gave me in an earlier thread that got my Apostate's Promise robes as an entirely new non-overriding female set. They are a new item variation with mao, mmh etc files, and therefore don't touch the warden robes.

I just can't seem to be able to get a male variation to work - pointing to the wrba msh stays invisible on a male. Would you mind taking a look? You have a hell of a lot more experience than I do.

Yikes, I just can't seem to express myself today!

If you do manage to do it, will -- when the armours are brought in -- the armours work on Awakening companions? That would be so cool, decking out all of the Wardens there in Warden armour. xD

Hi everyone...I am currenty having a Legacy-related problem and I figure this would be the best place to ask Image IPB I have found the names of the .dds files for the Legacy Warden-style armors and I have done some re-textures that I would like to add to my own game (I don't think there are any legal issues with doing this? Image IPB I have already bought the DLC so...Image IPB) but putting the new textures (I tried both packed into an .erf and just putting them straight in) in the packages/core/override directory isn't working as it usually does.

Can anyone tell me where I might put these so that they override the default DLC textures for these armors? Image IPB

Thanks in advance! Image IPB

It's possible that you've neglected the folder hierarchy. You have to make sure you preserve structures, so your texture would need to go in (for example) art/characters/playercharacter/humanmale/textures.

Ack! Apologies for my incredibly slow reply Image IPB(I thought I already posted this, but apparently all of this retexturing is driving me insane! Image IPB lol) As you said, the problem was to do with the folder hierarchy - It turns out I had skipped a step! Image IPB Thank you very much for the assistance ishmaeltheforsaken – I really appreciate it! I would love to get a crack at Janeka the grey warden mage and have her face replace with Female hawke's face. B)
