the same is true of the dwarf noble origin as your father and brothers there are equally pale in complexion).

Considering black people are black because of centuries of exposure to Africa's sun the idea of a black dwarf is farily silly anyway.  But it's a fantasy game and your knickers are in a twist so what's it matter I guess.

Again, if they don't want the player to play a dark-skinned dwarf then they shouldn't give you access to black skin tones in the character creator.

Also, being that dwarves are a magical fantasy race I think it's a bit presumptuous to say that "Dwarves don't come from Africa therefor there cannot be black dwarves." Being that dwarves are "made of the stone" it's possible that dwarves who come from areas rich in darker or heavier elements (perhaps coal or grey iron?) would have darker skin tones than those who hail from areas rich in lighter elements like mithril or silver. Besides, if you're attitude were correct then there would be NO variance in skin tones among the dwarves as they have all spent their entire lives underground and therefor would have only the palest of pale skin.

Okay, so maybe saying the game would've been better off without Origins entirely is a bit over the top, but how can anyone deny that several of the Origins could've been done so as to allow for much greater leeway in character customization without sacrificing story depth? Especially since many of the Origins do so already (for example, you're given much great flexibility in the Dalish Origin as well as the City Elf Origin being that your mother is an unknown which could explain why your character has a different skin tone from your father).

I (and I'm sure many others) are not sure what you want.  You can't be black, because there aren't any black people in Ferelden. I've not seen a world map, so do we even know if there are any continents on the equator?  It may just be open ocean.

As for the character creator allowing it, I think that's hugely useful, as it means it can be used for peoples own content.

I did notice one of the dwarf nobles in Orzammer seems to have an Asian accent and slightly darker skin. So I wouldn't rule out different character creation options.

Also, notice how different your brothers look to each other. Different faces and different hair.
