I just wanted to share fix, that I found worked a treat for installing Mass Effect 2 dlc when you bought the game from Steam.

Trick is simple:
1. Open Steam client and keep it running.
2. Copy all your add-ons to :"C:\\Program Files\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\mass effect 2"
3. Install one by one.
4. When you fire up a game next time and log in to the Cerberus network it will all be there.

Good luck :) :o

DLC installation failure with Steam copies normally occurs because Steam doesnt finalise installation and create the necessary registry entries until you try and run the gamethe first time. This has caught many people by surprise.
Procedure is:
Install via Steam
Run Game
Exit game and install DLC.

Will keep this in mind for anyone who still has failures though.

So this method still works? I've got ME2 from Steam and bought DLC through the Bioware site. Will this method still apply the newly installed DLC to ME2 - Steam?

Bogsnot1, I have tried that, and it did not work. I went so far as to re-install Mass Effect 2 just to see if what you're saying worked, it did not.

This is very frustrating...I just want to get some DLC onto my game...

TTBOMK, Bogs is hanging out elsewhere now, not here.  I have no answer myself.  You can try sending him a PM, perhaps.

Next member: Who, exactly, do you think reads these threads? No one from Bioware.  There's just gamers here.  It's only during the run up to release we'll see some of them, and afterward, only until the first gameplay patch, then they are all gone.
