I will acknowledge that aside from being Chesty McBigtits, this is a very nice piece of art. The artist could have taken it to the next level if he had filled in that space near the top where she has no armor, though. Would have been less ridiculous AND more attractive. (not to mention, more practical and comfortable for Shep!)

Edit: Strong Female Characters!

Well, that target painted on her chest could cause problems. I would like some light N7 armour like this though, 'twould be neato for infiltrators.

More hairstyles and whatnot is always a win, of course.

The art is great, he's a very talented artist! But this is not FemShep.

What Forsythia said.

It's beautiful, but too fancy to be FemShep. Try to imagine her speaking with Jennifer Hale's voice. It just doesn't fit.

It's great quality work, wow! But not for Mass Effect. It already has more than enough cleavage with Benezia, Samara, and every other Asari.

Ok.....am I the only one who wants this as casual wear? My only complaint..... like most ladies here on the forums, just...tuck the clevage in a tiny bit perhaps? Then I'd really like that outfit, but I think it'd be more suitable for wearing out of combat

Just my .02 cents ^___^

I have no problem with Samara's look, she's an asari, and their culture is different. Her cleavage might have some ceremonial meaning, but one thing's for sure, the Justicar Order didn't design her outfit to be "sexy". Humans happen to think it's sexy, but humans have only been on the scene for a short time, so whatever.

Uh-huh. Sure. It's all just a coincidence that Bioware designed an alien race to look exactly like perfect little human women, and gave them huge holes in their outfits that happen to be at the level of their breasts!
Also a coincidence is that these aliens mate with anything, cannot be defined as gay, are thought of as ****s, and are the only strippers in every club.
Of course it is!

I'm sure it's just that humans are huge perverts. Wait...

WIN lol, though why do they remind me of Aria? (I love Aria by the way)

I can hear Square Enix already racing to BioWare's door asking if they can burrow this. :P

Jesting aside, this would be actually pretty awesome if we covered up her chest, arms and dialed back her boobs from a E cup to a respectable B. Hell we can even go with a C cup but this is ridiculous. Not overly fond of the hair either.

Huh? FemShep looks like she's in her early-mid thirties to me, especially with Hale's voice.

Sure, the current femshep. but the one they're changing to for ME3 is not 30. Maybe 24 at a stretch, but not at all experienced. Just a kid.

Thus, I'd rather have the femshep from the fan art in this thread than the one BW is going to put as the default for ME3.

You know there is a character creator in game right and no one is forcing you to  play what you consider a young looking Shepard.  Anyway 29,500 votes say people like the way the current leading femshep looks.   Its only a small number of people saying she looks young and many dont believe that at all.

Wrong, that's not what happened at all.

Nearly 30k votes for what they were allowed to vote on. No where was anyone allowed to vote for none of the above, or too young, or anything else you want to inject. It was just which of these is the best compared to the others.

Yes, there is a character creator, Capt. Obvious. I will be using it. But I'd still prefer the fan art femshep--even with the exposed chest area--in this thread over what BW is doing.

Thank you for reminding me that no one is forcing me to do anything. Just like no one is forcing me to share an opinion. Just like no one is forcing you to agree with my opinion.

If you like the new default femshep, cool. Many do. I prefer the fan art. Many here don't.

Well that was quite a reactionary post.  Dont get you knickers in a twist! :P   As you say its about opinion and I respectively disagreed as you pointed out as people have voted on the Shepard they like best.  If they thought she looked to young for the part then I am sure she wouldnt have scored so highly.  While she does have a more youthful look, I dont think she looks younger then her 29 age.  I think her facial structure is very defined and adds character which keeps it in check.

Anyway the quality of those images are still very poor and you even have to look hard to see that she has renegade scars.    Theres no doubt there will be an overhaul still on the winner.  So maybe we will see more grit and wear on her in the trailer.     However with the current images we have I still dont consider there to be much of an issue.

As for the fanart, yeah other then the exposed chest it still rather impressive.  I dont think a lot of people deny that, her hairstyle is very unique and she does have a distinct look.  My only issue is with what isnt covered that should be.

One of my biggest issues, both with this fanart and with the winning FemShep, is hair in the face. I realize people want Shep to have long hair (I personally think she's better with short hair, but it's a personal preference), but I just cannot see someone as amazingly badass as Shep going around with hair in her face. Woman's got a galaxy to save, she's not going to be spending hours in front of the mirror slapping on product so that she can get that perfect beiber-esque coifure. Please.

Wow, where do I start?

1. This isn't Mass Effect 3 related.

2. I can't believe so many people are being so critical of a FAN ART. I'm usually the first to jump on illogical art directions in things, but this is just fan art, it's not like it's going to be in the game, it's just something a very talented artist decided to design.

Why aren't there pages and pages of threads on other pieces of fan art that don't follow the Mass Effect lore or aren't realistic, even in the Mass Effect universe? Yeesh, this whole thread is full of knee-jerk reactors to absolutely anything that sexualizes a woman.

1.  Yes it is Mass Effect 3 related as the creator of it now works for Bioware and this is one of his concept pieces.  Although as he's new I am sure Bioware will point him on the feel of Mass Effect a little more.

2.  People are being critical of it because of what I said above.  He works for Bioware now so they just want to be sure that an open top protagonist doesnt appear.  People dont want femshep overly sexualised, thats why people are reacting as they are.  No one doubts his artistic talents, its very evident!

My art was posted not long ago and there were pages and pages on how it doesn't fit the lore. Characters were also male. FYI.

I guess it's barely Mass Effect 3 related in that sense, but it's not like BioWare officially said any of this would be in the game. I also highly doubt BioWare would specifically take away FemShep's right to wear normal armor and force everyone playing as FemShep to wear this. At most it could be an option, but that's about all I can see actually happening... would having the mere option still be offensive?

*stands corrected* I guess I'm still a little pissy about so many people voting for the impractical hair-in-your-face blonde FemShep after the whole rage over the alternate Ashley outfit... seems like a lot of people are picking and choosing what they find sexualized versus what they find pretty while just using practicality as an excuse.

Also, link to your art?

This really doesn't seem at all good.
Ignoring the cleavage, which would really shoot Femshep in the foot, the hair just seems too.... punky, to be any good. I mean a lot of people complain about Ash and Shep5 having long hair, this looks to me to be just as impractical.
Nice art though, very detailed, looks better than the official art for many games haha

I think it looks great but to be honest the outfit looks like something that she would wear for an occasion, like the outfit in the Kasumi loyalty mission.

...that occasion being a Halloween party.
