Looks like something out of Halo. Yuk!

Halo's art style doesn't look at all like this, nor is it overly sexualized (aside from Cortana).

And on a slightly related topic, I'm also not sure why I've seen quite a few people say they dislike omni-blades because it looks too Halo when Halo's energy swords don't look at all similar... the only things they have in common are being shiny, transparent, and blades.

I like the art, but this Shepard looks more like an assassin femme fatale than a soldier. And who'd stab you in the back rather than shoot you in the face.

Good pics. Lame for ME though.

Still, seeing a similar model in another sci-fi Bioware game wouldn't be bad.

One of my biggest issues, both with this fanart and with the winning FemShep, is hair in the face. I realize people want Shep to have long hair (I personally think she's better with short hair, but it's a personal preference), but I just cannot see someone as amazingly badass as Shep going around with hair in her face. Woman's got a galaxy to save, she's not going to be spending hours in front of the mirror slapping on product so that she can get that perfect beiber-esque coifure. Please.

You forget all those people whose Sheps have mascara, lipstick, eyemake, etc.

It's the future though, I'm sure cosmetics will have evolved by then that it doesn't need constant re-applying.

Also lol, my fanart that was on the SDCC is hyper-sexualized femShep, but no one gave me a hard time about it (ok, it's not popular, that's a reason). But my Shepard's hot, sorry. (And wears a dress + heels at the ship at all times)

To be fair, many who use the eye-liner do so specifically because the some of the eyes are messed up and the eye-liner fixes them a bit.  The eye shadow also helps in that regard with some.  Two good reasons for eye make-up.

"Saw these pictures and I really liked them.  Why can't Female Shepard be visually distinctive, when it comes to armor, from the male Shepard?  This suit causes no problems, as Kinetic barriars are in play when it comes to shields.

Edit-- Slowly realizing others don't share the same sentiments.  If the front were more covered up, would it be a good armor choice for Fem Shepard?  Would you mind it in the game if it were in there?

Edit #2 -- No need for the bashing.  Just posting what I saw.  Wanted opinions on it."

Nice Sci-Fi concept art
.
The latest armour concepts presented by Bioware, appear both protective and visually distinctive.
I already posted my concerns about those concepts on that page - so back to your question...

Question 1 )    Yes, I'd be concerned about Ms. Commander Shepard's exposure to the rain of metal and energized plasma that is frequently flung her way. Even facing someone holding a big knife or a pointed stick would be a concern.    Breastplate please... !

"Okay my heart...it's riiiight over.... here !"

Maybe, we just haven't seen the places where such apparel might fit in yet.
Okay, I'm not trying to hurt any feelings - these are just ideas that occur to me....call it parody if you will.
It's all in Fun folks !!!
 ~  ~ ~ ~ ~  ~ ~  ~ ~ ~ ~  ~ ~  ~ ~ ~  ~ ~ ~  ~

If the consort Shi'ira has a naughty sister ( let's call her "Ji-ira" ) with her own place on Omega....
Well, then Ji-ira's bodyguard / girlfriend might have similar garb.....with a breastplate.

Ji-ira:   "Whew....what a day !   I'll be glad when those massive fleets take off to go kick Reaper nuts.
Never thought I'd see the day - when I wanted less business in my place."

Bodyguard G.F.:   "Yeah - I had to kick 2 dozen asses out the door today.  Those sailors keep grabbing the dancers.                                   Let's have some wine and relax.
Oh...let me take off this armour plate...  "CLANG !"   That's better....now I'm casual."

Oh...wait... here's another awkward encounter for a Commander Shepard ( of either gender ) at the bar.
Our least favorite stalker in the M.E. Universe is reimagined as...a female Conradia Verner In a revealing armoured suit.  - In this scene Conradia corners the Commander at the bar...

Conradia Verner:  "Oh Commander Shepard !  ( breathes in deeply )
I'm such a BIG FAN of yours.... and I'd do simply.....ANYTHING.....to help you in your mission... !

Commander Shepard:  "Would you mind taking your hand off of my Forbidden ZONE  - for starters ?"
And second... Verner....will you STOP STALKING me ??? !!!
Either you get help - or I'm getting help FOR you !"

Conradia Verner: ( Breaks into tears.... )  "PLEASE - HELP ME !"

It'd be nice as extremely light armour as long as you patch up that massive hole in the front of her suit.

The issue of armor design has always been interesting to me. As an artist, I often like to take liberties with what is practical in favor of what looks good, but creating something that looks "good" and is believable at the same time is always fun.

I'm designing an original character right now, and have completed about 80% of her armor design (I still need to paint the gauntlets and gun). What are your thoughts?

That still leaves blush, mascara, lipstick and colorful eyeshadow (there is green, a blue-ish one, a red-ish one, a couple others if I remember correctly.)

Yeah, but I don't use them at all.  About the only eyeshadow I use is the dark color to fix the eyes with the eyeliner.  I can't speak about the blush.  Then again, some people have naturally coloring to their cheeks right?  I'm not sure. *shrug*

The art is nice and so is the detail, but the woman looks like she'd be more comfortable in a Shadowrun setting and not as as FemShep.

By 'visually distinctive' do you mean 'have her ****** out'? I'd rather femshep be practical seeing as she gets shot at every five minutes.

I like her face more than anything that has been offered by Bioware so far - at last she looks like she is an attractive woman in her thirties.
The chest of that armor is awful thou, and the haircut has to go.

There is such a thing as dermopigmentation - a widely accessible
cosmetically procedure, that uses a shallow tattoo to simulate makeup, a
bit painful even with anesthetics, but still people do it, and I'm sure
Shep is thought enough to handle it :D It takes several hours and needs
to be repeated every 4-5 years, but nothing that a soldier on live
can't handle.  And yes, blush, mascara, lipstick and colorful eyeshadows can be done with it.

Hair styling thou? Even if the hair keeps the desired shape correctly
it's still not plastic - a longish cut will get in to your eyes no
matter how firmly you style it. If we absolutely have to have long
haired Shep than at last they need to give her enough sense to tie her
tresses back in a field. Long hair on downtime or award ceremonies are
great... Not so much in a firefight.

Stunning artwork. Impractical as mainline fem shep? Sure, but she'd make a great squad mate. Having talent like this at Bioware is a definite boon. Maybe we won't have 7-foot tall giraffe-necked female models in ME3, like we did in ME1 and ME2.

Nice art I gues, but REALLY not something I would want in the game. In fact, I would hate it. Way too sexualized.

The fact that the female hero is NOT oversexualized is one of the things I like with ME.

Me too.

It's a lovely piece of art work and would make a nice mod addition.  I would not download it and I would hate for Shepard to be dressed like this.  Actually would hate any of the females characters being dressed like this.  Bad enough as it is.
