I think that looks great. I don't think it looks much different from the femShep art that we're getting to VOTE on. I don't know where people are getting "bimbo" from other than their own misconceptions and prejudices
against blonde and hot women. Being feminutzies maybe.
I agreed that the armor from Grasseti's art would be really bad because of the huge cleavage. I also think Samara and Benezia should cover their chests and Miranda should get an actual armor. And I dislike a lot of things about
Asari, I could rant on that for weeks. But the femShep art has none of those issues.
Bioware went for a pretty balanced approach in comparison.

Haha.
I don't really like the asari as a concept myself, either. As individuals, the new Liara and Samara are pretty cool, but asari as a race? Not so much.

Sabine is a couple years younger than Shepard, and was intended to have a slightly 'baby' face. She's bi-racial with more pronounced African features, including fuller, rounder cheeks/nose/lips. I'm glad you like her. She's been my most popular OC yet.

Yeah same here (though I liked Liara better in ME1). Aria is full of awesome too, and that bartender Asari in ME2.

Sabine looks completely capable to me, and beautiful (and a well-structured face, for the record). I also like the semi-realistic art style, it looks good and expressive. And I think moles are really cute... it's a nice detail on femShep5 too (glad it's not space dust lol)

Specifically, infantry training tends to wear you out. But I can tolerate some freedom in games.

Wearing you out just means making you tired, but with exercise you'd look healthier, skin tighter, not looser and wrinkled.

That's true, though this Marine gives his take on it.

I dunno what it is about the Marine Corps, but it is too often that you see Marines barely in their middle ages looking like geriatrics. In all reality, it is simply a result of a life time of physical abuse to the body. All of those flak runs, hikes, deployments, hardcore PT sessions and binge drinking add up over the years, believe it or not. I recall returning from Iraq the first time, looking like I had aged several years in the span of 7 months. Physical and emotional strain on a daily basis are not actually good for the human body, believe it or not, and those decrepit SNCO’s and officers that just barely turned 40 are the result. I’m not saying it necessarily happens to everyone, in fact I would be willing to say that those who spend their whole careers in the infantry are much more likely to develop this rapid aging syndrome. Not, of course, to undermine the office life, but to further illustrate my point–that maybe it’s best to get out while you still have some youth left in you. (Or at the very least, LAT move)

I'm not saying Shepard should look like he/she is 40. I quite like how they appear right now.

Good to know, I wasn't sure where to look for info on that. I still think in sci-fi people shouldn't be thinking about technology we have today though (medigelmedigelmedigel) and I think I read in the game that life-expectancy of humans increased but I'm not sure. Which isn't to say stuff like Charlie Sheen wouldn't happen. Still, they are able to put a dead person back together.
(btw my Shepard doesn't drink as much, maybe she's too busy with makeup)

edit: typo x_x

The art is nice and so is the detail, but the woman looks like she'd be more comfortable in a Shadowrun setting and not as as FemShep.

Quite agree,  bayonetta in space^_^

With all due respect (and all ME fans know what that means), keep your goth space stripper costume and give me a hi res version of the awesome-looking capacitor chestplate.

+1

I physically recoiled when I saw that outfit. My FemShep would rather become a husk than go out in that.

nope, agree with nyoka.  and her femshep looks awesome (probably because my shep has almost the same outfit), it looks competent and reliant. :)

And I would be happy if her appearance remained ambiguous and up to the persons imagination. But sadly that is not to be. Yes we can think about the future of cosmetics, but it's not about that. It is about what we have today - about realistically existing professional woman, military woman, woman who achieve real live success in science, politics, business - the ones who actually take part in space programs, and not just strut on the catwalks and dream about finding a good husband. Do they not deserv being portrait in a game for a change?
Thous woman are strong, intelligent and yes, although beautiful, because to be beautiful one does not need mini skirts or lip gloss - a gorgeous woman remains gorgeous even with her hair pulled back, no make up applied and in military uniform... Actually she is more so, because her beauty will not dissapear with a bit of rain, she will remain as heart stopping no matter what she has to come through.
It is sad if a woman thinks that she needs to paint her face over or strip half naked to be attractive. Some self confidence please.
As for age - Shep is 30+ becouse of her bio, if you add up her training, military expirience and so on you cant tell that she is over 30, so why should she look younger? Becouse a wmoan is not attractive if she is older? Sorry but that is not true, a woman can be beautiful at any age, if fact most of the actresses you see on TV are 30+.
As for your "their Sheps aren't a good She" I never sad that someone's Shep is not good, but I hope you in turn do realise that in game it's preaty much impossible to make Shep who looks yonger than 30? Non of the skin options are this smooth. And there is no actuall lip gloss options, only diferent lipstick collors. And we are not given any long hair that are not pulled back... So no, even if you try you can't make a full out barbie that we see on sugested promotions... Funny that.

Best post in this thread! You eloquently articulated my sentiments exactly! Bravo!

I'll be honest, the outfit doesn't suit the charater of Shepard at all.

I'm male and I enjoy a sexy looking woman as much as the next guy. But I often find the sexualization that goes on in music, comics, movies and video games tiresome. Seriously, if I want to oggle a digitally enhanced pair of oversize mammaries, I'm going to go flick through my internet bookmarks, not fire up Mass Effect.

I could live with that sort of outfit in a character that suited it. For instance I quite like Durham Red despite the fact she's a walking talking sexualized fantasy but shes unapologetically that. She's a ****ty tramp who revels in the fact that she's a ****ty tramp and enjoys upsetting the conservative sensibilities of the people around her. For Durham Red the outfit would actually be pretty tame. But for someone like Shepard it's completely out of character and inapropriate.

I've said this before on these boards, probably in this very topic, but I'm going to say it again: As a female, I'm exhilarated every time a male gamer points out that the promise of boobs doesn't automatically turn his brain off and make him beg and drool. Essentially, that it is not automatically an awesome thing. Marry me?

It kinda drives me mad...
I mean it's not enough that we have soft porn on every music channel, in every film and every game...

I'm not a huge fan of Femshep, but I don't want her to be a pornstar starring in a game. Even if some will argue that the concept doesn't come close to a pornstar, she's still oversexualized and that's the sentiment the concept gives me.

Plus with the tattoos, the emo/goth inspired attire, dyed hair and the edgy haircut, she kind of looks like Lisbeth Salander.

It is awesome! I can't argue with that!

Though imo, it doesent look very mass effect-ish, if you know what i mean.

I am not saying it is bad, though! It is AWESOME.

Its the perfect armor for Infiltrator femshep... all the bad guys are staring at her chest and she's just picking them off one by one with her sniper rifle.

Oh, and you guys have got to stop judging this outfit by the character. If it were your femShep in the armor, it would still look the same.

It does indeed look better without the extra target space. Just as believable as most of ME1's light armour and good-looking to boot. (Obviously would need a helmet, realistically, but I assume that's removed just for the sake of seeing Shep's face in this concept pic.)

The hair still looks stupid, but no worse than Ashley's new do I suppose, and I wish there was a bit more armour covering the chest area but over all much, much better than the original design.

I really like the OP's art, its great. I dont understand the fear of cleavage, certainly Samara doesn't share that fear :) . As a practical matter there's no reason why the 'exposed skin' would be a problem, since really, if somebody shot you with a laser or a grenade launcher or whatever, it wouldn't matter whether your chest was covered or not, you'd be equally dead either way, so letting hyper-realism get in the way of a great outfit doesn't make any sense to me. Thanks for sharing, it's great stuff!

Then again... I wanted the other version too! haha

I'd say it would be a good infiltrator Shep suit as well.

Personally, I do like the artwork and the character in general. I would venture where others have and say that it doesn't exactly scream female Shepard, but it's quite nice.

To those who are saying it doesn't look like it fits in with Mass Effect, look at Jack and Samara. The tattoos and slightly punk look make me think of Jack while the low cut neckline points me into thinking about Samara. Perhaps a more accurate statement would be that it doesn't fit an Alliance officer, which I agree with.

I wouldn't mind the revealed skin, but I prefer 100k's more conservative look by filling in those uncovered spaces. I would like more light armor options as well, and with the skin covered up, I think it really suits a light armor look that I would probably use.
