I wonder if The Architect is really a Magister.

of course he's a Magister. looking back, he had a whole Tevinter vibe in Awakening.

Oh Maker, the Architect is wearing a TEVINTER ROBE AND FANCY HAT. His hat looks awfully like the Mage hats you can wear in Origins, doesn't it? Oh, and if his robes weren't melded into his FLESH, they'd look quite a bit like Anders' tevinter robes, don't you think? The melding of the Architect's clothing to his body is a lot like Corypheus' armored robes melding to his body, hmm?
You're completely right. It's a shame no one will listen. If it walks like a duck, swims like a duck, quacks like a duck, then for some reason we just don't have enough information yet?

THANK YOU! I'm actually amazed this was only mentioned once or twice in this forum.

Which isn't to say that he's NOT an original trespasser. Just that whether he is is not 100% irrefutable. /devil's advocate

Of course, I think his headpiece looks like something an Egyptian high priest would wear, so maybe he's a time traveling plane jumper.

In agreement, and fanciy that this forum section has gotten away from the crazy crowd and actully has good game related topics again *gasps at the fact he can post here now*. But a mute point I killed him. And on a side note, I'm wondering if the Old Gods, Elvian gods, Dwarfs and the Maker are all connected somehow. Say the Maker is the dread wolf, and the golden city was where the evil gods, aka old gods were sealed.QuintusVolcae wrote...

I mean reguardless alot of history was lost among all of the peoples, such as an anemy Humans and Elfs were both fighting, forgotten to the distant past (Spirit Warrior) and the fact while adversiral now, and in no agreement over who's fault the recent wars were, have no recollection of the fact them and the humans lived below ground together and seemingly on equal grounds. Or the Dwarves giving the elfs a place to hinde out in, while dispite having a recorded history that streaths thousands of years, seemingly forgot this little fact, plus the locations of two cities and all of the culture within.

Supposedly one could be the Creator. Some of the Others possibly outside his creation. And still Others may not be all that necessary for ones' beliefs. If that and that don't shed the requisite light that you seek for, I don't know what will...KenKenpachi wrote...

Archi didn't really lie either. The Warden never asked him point blank if he started the Blight. Even after The Mother told the Warden about it, Archi didn't try and lie. He stated outright that he was the cause of it and he regretted it.
I wouldn't put much stock in them looking similar either. This is coming for the creators of DA2: Repetitive Set and Character Models UNBOUND!!!

- Tainted magisters (Corypheus)
- Awakened darkspawn (darkspawn put through the Architect's ritual)
Now it's a fair bet that the Architect didn't put himself through that ritual. So that leaves taint magisters.

So the question now would be "what erased all of the Architect's memories of being human?"
this is assuming of course he truly doesn't remember. But think about it: Would you honestly tell a Grey Warden that you were one of the original magisters who invaded the "Golden" City and then ask for his help to awaken other Darkspawn?
The Architect was probably afraid that by saying that he was once a Magister, the Warden would outright refuse and kill him.

With good reason imo. Keeping that information from the Warden increases the likelihood of the Warden agreeing to help the Architect.

Wait, though. Was the Architect able to manipulate Callings and mentally control darkspawn like Corypheus? I don't remember.
yup. He could control mindless Darkspawn, as could his Disciples. But once they were freed, the Darkspawn could control themselves.
It's the fact that they're severed from the Call of the Old Gods that makes the mindless Darkspawn fear them and obey them.

He's very egalitarian for a magister, then, getting all of his servants to think for themselves instead of simply commanding an army of mindless slaves. The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...

the wiki says that if the mindless Darkspawn get too much of a bloodlust thing going on that they break away from his control
