Have you ever seen a donkey? Their ears go straight up and are semi tubular, quite a bit different.

Well, the issue at hand is that donkey ears look absolutely nothing like DA2 elf ears.

As the president of the anti donkey defamation league, I tend to take these things very seriously.tmp7704 wrote...

So, if i get it right, you're saying comparing these elf ears to donkeys is offending to the donkeys?Atakuma wrote...

@Zanallen: i was thinking about the pose like this:

granted, they're fuzzy and much more cute. I see now why the anti donkey defamation league would feel upset about the comparison.

Uhmm, they honestly are. You need to scale the width of DAO elf model down by 15% in order to spot-on match the shape of the DA2 body. Additionally the DA2 shape is also taller, which makes them thinner further (as that makes the height/width ratio change)ReallyRue wrote...
In any case, they are no thinner than they were in Origins.

The proportions are my big problem with the design. Their heads are too large, their shoulders are too narrow, their necks are too long, and they're too short. If they would just balance out the proportions, then I think that would be a big improvement.tmp7704 wrote...

Being taller, with larger heads, etc, makes them seem thinner. I always thought my DAO elf looked painfully thin to begin with, so the elves in DA2 didn't look as though they could possibly be any thinner. Of course, I can't play an elf in DA2, so I'm not staring at the back of one for hours, noticing the figure/details as much.

I actually liked the short, pointy-eared human look. It fit with the idea that the discrimination against elves was based on superficial physical differences, and was therefore utterly ridiculous because elves are "just like us". The DA2 elves look like a different species entirely, which shifts the ground of the argument, because they're demonstrably *not* "just like us".
Also, I think the barefoot thing is ridiculous, and was clearly decided on by people who rarely go barefoot.
