I just cracked open the toolset, and I may be jumping ahead of myself, but how do you create your own custom levels in the toolset, and not load up one of the .arl files for your level?

I don't see any options for adding rooms, corridors, and anything like that.

I don't get the editor, I am completely lost.

When I got NWN years back, I could make an area in about two minutes, manipulate it, add corridors, add rooms, and stuff like that, and right now, I don't know how to do anything, but load an area level BioWare created themselves.

Can someone give me english answers that will allow me to create my own levels and areas I can see.

Have you checked out the wiki yet? There's tons of good information there about where to start.

Be aware, the learning curve of the DA toolset is WAY higher than NWN's.  It's not easy to get started with this toolset at all, so just be aware of that when starting out.

Thanks for the help Astorax, I think I can go on from there.

Its just the tutorials off the main site didn't have the kind of info that I wanted or needed, and it was getting kinda frustrating.

Now, onto making my epic!

Well, I am loathe to hijack a thread, but I have a somewhat unrelated question -- and cannot post to the general toolset forums (for reasons I am unware of)

I'm interested in learning how to play with the toolset, but have read that many a poor fellow has ruined the single player campaign in the process. I have absolutely no desire to modify the single player campaign at this time, only to create a stand alone module. Are there any particularly important precautions I need to take to avoid mucking up the wonderful single player campaign?

Thank you in advance!

rename your C:\\Documents and Settings\\[username]\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Modules directory to say modulebk and you shouldn't have anything to worry about...also if your experiencing problems delete the C:\\Documents and Settings\\[username]\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Packages folder

One stuipid question - how do ou open anything in the toolset.

I'ts like none of the resources are there - how do you even open the game areas or morps or characters to look at them (eventaully edit and save as something else)

For example, I'm trying to find Merril (for the Dealish Elf origin) and modify her morph to later use for another character. I can't find Merril anywhere..
