Emily Hopkins will play "Vigilante" character in ME3. The information about it has been removed from IMDB page since we've first learned about it, but it's present on Emily Hopkins official website. Her LinkedIn profile confirms the website's legitimacy.

Screenshot from her website in case the information gets removed:

Do you think she'll be the new female squadmate (counterpart to Vega)? Or maybe just an NPC character?

I assume all the complaints about making all characters bi in DA2 will have consequences for the s/s romances in ME3. For starters I doubt they'll be doing 'all bi' characters again. In order to still have a s/s romance for female Shepards, BW will probably add a bisexual female character.

I wonder and perhaps worry about adding another human however. We've got ashley/kaidan and Vega as alliance soldiers, do we really need another? Of course assuming she'll be a human alliance soldier, but the way I see it, they'll add her first and foremost for s/s romance purposes so it's a safe bet (imo) that it's a human female. And if so, what kind of skills will she have to make her unique? More questions than answers to this topic at this point...

"Awesome new character scanned and voiced today. So much more to #ME3 than we've revealed so far."

Well, we'll get at least one more human character. So, possibly yes.

Either that or new Asari. They do face scans for them as well.

So she's a human female Garrus? Don't we already have a vigilante? That said at least we know she'll look better than Vega. The VA is pretty cute, so modeling the character after her wouldn't be a bad thing.
Personally I think it's a little late in the series to be adding new characters that are supposed to be important. I'd rather a character like Kasumi or Zaeed be moved up in prominence than add someone else we have to get to know.
However, in the end it's best to reserve judgement and just wait and see how it all plays out. (Who am I kidding, Vega's never leaving the Normandy. Five bucks says he's a Cerberus plant.)

Wasn't there a Twitter post by Casey, stating that there is a new female love interest that is also Bi? She might be it.

I like the sound of vigilante, maybe she's on the run from Cerberus or the alliance, who knows. Sounds interesting, thanks for the post

Well, I think it was always clear knowing BioWare they'd balance Vega with a female counterpart. Both bi. I think likely she's it. I'm cool with that. Long as there's not many more new char's that essentially "replace" ME2 ones because they could die. Thanks for the post.

I am talking about all human squadmates from ME1 and ME2 aswell. Instead of having another human, how about  female Turian instead. But considering they will scan her face it will either be human or asari.

You really should change the title to something like "New possible squadmate" or something, would attract more attention xD

Don't forget Jack, Miranda, Kasumi, Jacob, and Zaeed if they are squaddies.  Wooo..  Grand total of seven.  I doubt all of them will be on the Normandy at the same time and some might not be a squadmate at all.  I don't see Zaeed joining Shepard without being paid.  Espeically if Shepard punched him during his LM.

There are two humans, four aliens in ME.  After Vermire there is only one.
Five humans, 1 geth, six aliens in ME2.

Too many humans my eye.

There are a total of 7 humans total and six after Virmire.

There are as many aliens as humans.  So no, not too many.

I doubt very much it will be another asari.  If case you haven't noticed, there is only one of each alien species joining Shepard in each game and Liara is a squad mate in ME3. Plus Samara.  Which we don't know to much about her role yet.

Urhm and? In both ME1 & ME2 aliens made up for the majority fo the squads. Don't get this obsession with "must be alien!" squadmates. Seriously, being a walking codex entry ain't better than being a 'boring human'.

I'm surprised this topic hasn't blown up, you know with all the obsessive over new characters like Vega.

In response to the too many humans argument, this is a human centric game in a human centric world. The main goal of the game is to save Earth, so I wouldn't put the devs on the cross for putting another human on the squad.

Hopefully there will be some resemblance to the actual Emily Hopkins similar to Joker, Miranda and TIM.

'Vigilante' is pretty ambiguos. She could be a female Turian for all we know. Your probably right in that we'll be seeing a bi human female though, although there is still a possibility that it could be Ashley.

It can't be Ashley for obvious discrepancies between players who saved or left her to die. I still insist on Gillian. The role would probably be a counterpart to Vega, probably bi, and probably out for revenge on someone or some organization,*cough*Gillian and Cerberus*cough*

From this article about her:

"Recently, Hopkins did work for a trailer for the upcoming video game “Mass Effect 3” and also can be seen in various fitness and workout DVDs as what she calls a “fitness monkey” (i.e. those people who go through the steps along with the instructor). "

If she only worked for a trailer, then it's possible this Vigilante character is a one-shot kind of thing like "Big Ben" or the cast of the live-action trailer.

With a name like "Vigilante" it'll prolly be a female archangel.
