If she only worked for a trailer, then it's possible this Vigilante character is a one-shot kind of thing like "Big Ben" or the cast of the live-action trailer.

I have a hard time believing that she would be named a specific name just for one trailer.

Because this franchise looks at aliens and everything else through the eyes of humanity and our real history, world and society.

But we're not looking at aliens the vast majority of the time. We spend most of our time looking at human squadmates and a human terrorist organisation... through the eyes of a human.

Yeah, I think your spot on here. She's probably just an actor in the cinematic demo.

It's hard to tell from that angle, but it could be her. I don't remember that part from the live action trailer and a lot of work went to those husk costumes for the 2 seconds they were on the video, so... maybe they will post another trailer soon?

I don't get why people are saying no more human companions because there has always been more aliens in the squad:
ME1- 4 aliens vs 2 humans (then reduced to 1 human)
ME2- 6 aliens vs 5 humans (3 without Kasumi and Zaeed)
ME3- 3 aliens vs 2 humans ("Vigilante" makes it 3 aliens and 3 humans.)

So what's the problem exactly?

That is pretty much what I said too. 

Humans:Kaidan, Ashley(one is nuke food), Miranda, Jacob, Jack, Kasumi, and Zaeed.
Aliens:Wrex, Garrus, Tali, Liara, Mordin, Grunt, Samara, Thane, Legion,
 
That makes a total of seven humans(six one is nuke food) and eight aliens. 

Yup, we have too many  humans.   :innocent:

Been lurking on the boards forever but never posted.  So this is a first.

Just a thought but could Vega and this Vigilante be mutually exclusive depending on which VS you have?
Granted that would make s/s relationships have another hoop to jump through, say if your a male shep and blew Ashley up giving you the female Vigilante instead of Vega.

As I said, just a thought.

I actually considered that. But I was going for a class direction, like Dragon Age II. If you blew Ashley, who's a soldier, you would get Vega, who's also a soldier. If you blew Kaidan, who's a Sentinel, you would get a Sentinel female.

All players that I know that have a gay Shepard have Kaidan alive so, while I can't talk about players that have lesbian Shepards, that sounds like a okay logic.

Or not, who knows.

Thought about it, but from what it looks like & what we've heard so far everyone gets Vega no matter who they nuked on Virmire so I assume everyone gets the new female as well.

Good, you can never have too many non-military crew members on you're high-profile top-secret warship if you ask me. I think she'll be an Infiltrator or Sentinel, depending on whether she's a "defending the weak" Vigilante or Robin Hood style Vigilante. Thoughts?
