A simmy I had damaged itself with an area spell... and then went hostile (and with SCS2 it was pretty effective!).  I've never read about this behavior & can't find anything so I'm wondering whether it's vanilla behavior or not.

I'm sure there's at least one bug issue here though.  I playtested the issue with PI too.  It also went hostile, but started using potions of extra healing, which obviously it shouldn't be doing (I didn't even have them equipped!).  If your clones are supposed to go hostile if you damage them, then I don't really mind this bug though.

edit: Playing around a bit more, it only seems to happen when they suffer "enough" damage.  I can inflict a little bit without them going hostile.

Wow, never had that happen, don't think it's standard. I have SCS2 installed, but I haven't played a mage past the underdark for a while. It never happened to me with Tactics or vanilla, but I suppose I generally avoid party-unfriendly spells. ADHW, comet, & dragons' breath are all party-safe, although you need to be pretty high level for your simmy to get these. Perhaps get them to fire prot from elements or something.

Thanks. If it doesn't happen in vanilla or Tactics that narrows the list down. I suspected it might be a ToBEx bug, but disabling it didn't have any effect. I might reinstall and test it mod by mod when I have the time.

Have you installed the "enemies use clones" component of SCS II? It seems likely that that may be what's causing it.

Yep, I have. It's actually why I wondered if disabling ToBEx might solve things, since it seems like my favorite SCS2 components always use it in some way. Since it doesn't work I'll have to change my installation at some point.

It's really kind of funny though seeing my clone get an attitude problem!

I have an install without that component (and with a more recent TobEx test release), I can perhaps test a little later. What kind of damage did do to test with?

Thanks! Delayed-Blast Fireball always made them hostile, assuming they survived. A Fireball or a Skull Trap doesn't always - the most I've seen them take so far w/o turning hostile is 15.

Did a little test:

Cone of Cold for 29 damage didn't turn a simmy hostile. (Weirdly, killing it doesn't "reset" the spell duration. If I tried to summon a new simmy, I got the "You may only have one simulacrum at a time. You must wait until the duration of the first spell is over.")

DBF for 30 damage didn't turn it hostile either.

Considering I have most of SCS II installed (modulo purely tactical components) except the "enemies use clones" bit, I'd say removing that might be the first thing to try.

I can confirm, without that SCS2 component, my clones will commit suicide for me :o  Thanks again, Anon.
