Basically, everyone but the VS and Liara die is my current prediction. Hopefully I'm wrong and hopefully there are ways to save people on your team but I remember hearing abotu "consequences" in ME3 if you chated on your LI in ME2 which makes me think that all the ME2 LIs are going to die in ME3.

I don't see it that way, but people will die.

Even in the game discription is states that not everyone will surivive.  That can be taken many ways, but people will die.  Which is what I want.  Emotional stuff in ME3.  Both good and bad.

Yeah, the whole point of the game and the galactic war is that you need some kind of loss, to make the victory feel like it was worth it. If you just destroyed the reapers without suffering a single casualty (ex. ME2 not-so-suicide mission), it would feel cheap and boring. I am not for unavoidable deaths thought, i hope the player at least gets some choice in it like in Virmire, instead of some characters just dieing no matter what you do.

I think people may die, but I don;t think anyone should have plot armor inME3. I think the VS and Liara should be fair game as well. I just think that they had plot armor to this point because they needed to make it to the third installment.

If we can choose who lve and who die, just like in ME 1, the choice can be easy. If Ashley or Jack dies, I have no problems. But I don't want Tali to die. It's a big no !

I... don't think even this forum could survive the rage of the talimancers and garrus' fans if any of them died (and you couldn't save them).

They're all going to die eventually. Might as well do it saving the galaxy.

I'm certain we'll have people die, and probably people turn on us depending on the choices we make. The VS and Liara are almost certainly going to both be on the chopping block. Hell I almost expect a ME1 LI - ME2 LI whom to save at some point for example.

Yeah the suicide mission was lame because it was easy to have everyone survive. So I do hope some people die in ME3. But if Liara, Garrus and Miranda die I may just have to cry.

This. But Garrus, Joker and Mordin.
It would actually make me sob. Can't believe I'm so attached to them but at least it means the writers are doing a good job :D

Some people are going to have to go if BW wants you emotionally involved. Yes, we all get attached to the characters, which is why losing them will make us fight and make the Reapers pay. BW wants us to feel that. It's what makes games so great.

But It is going to suck. lol!

I hope Shepard doesn't die on this one. Or I will bawl. I'm too attached to my Sheploo. He almost did in the first one. And did in the second. No need for a third.. please BW. lol

If Tali, Kaidan, Miranda or Liara die..... :crying:

As long as no one character is forced to die at some point. If there's a scene in the game where a specific character must die, and nothing you do could ever stop it, then that would just be awful. And if a certain quarian was forced to die, I might be forced to blow up bioware headquarters with an F-35 when I join the air force...

I wouldn't mind if no characters get plot armor or "fan" armor, or anything like that, in me3. It doesn't make sense given the context of the game. However, any character deaths should have causes, most likely related to actions taken by us. For example, side with the Quarians, Legion dies if the character can't somehow prevent it. Side with the Geth, Tali dies if the Quarians are pro-war and actions aren't taken to prevent it.
I just don't want it to be forced deaths for the sake of characters dying, it needs to be well-tied into events, and not a repeat of Virmire. (Also wouldn't support any 1 character[Thane excluded] having an unavoidable death. Thane actually has reasons he may die no matter what. The other characters...not so much)

This thread has got me thinking...
Would Bioware be as cruel as to purposely kill off the characters your Shepard had spent the most time with? For emotional effect? The imports can read who you romanced and such, but perhaps who you took with you on most missions, who do you check back with for conversations more often? Maybe you're LI will die no matter what, for shock value.
It's illogical, and probably impossible, but it's still something to ponder.

I'm actually convinced that Shepard is going to die. Bioware has said multiple times that it's the end of Shepard's story. From the trailer that was presented, Shepard sees a child in an air shaft. He turns around for a second, the child is gone. Hallucinations is a symptom of indoctrination, and indoctrination isn't curable. Shepard being indoctrinated is yet another possibility for why Cerberus is after Shepard, no matter what your choice with the Collector Base was.

The only death that would make me cry is if Liara died and I couldn't prevent it.  I lost Tali on my first playthrough and it made me very sad, but didn't cry.  That will be my first import file too.  Lost Mordin too.  That is going to be a very interesting ME3 playthrough.

yeah at first i thought about this but i read in article that you see the child later on. but then again it still could be an indoctrination thing. yeah i always thought shepard was heading to his ultimate death,

Heck, I almost cried just on Mordin's loyalty mission and no one was on the chopping block. Vie ire never really got me, but neither of them are in the favorites. I lost Samara, which was sad because I see my Shep as an old soul, so they got long well. I've become attached to a lot of my crew, but frankly I'm hoping for lots of tough choices in ME3. Harbinger already as me prepped to know pain, and I'm hoping for it.

The kid didn't disappear I don't think, just crawled back in the air ducts. Frankly, in kid logic that probably makes more sense than running off with a stranger, but I still think this could be the end of Shepard.

I'm not worried about that at all.

In fact I'm hoping Bioware kills off some fan favorites. I'd love it for example if those who still had Tali & Garrus alive, ended up in a situation where they could save one but not the other. Mass Effect 3 should have some tragedy thrown into the story and it should be impossible to get your entire team through unscathed.

I would hope this isn't the case...I take my favorite squaddies on my missions....as I paragon my whole squad and am a conversations completionist, who I take with me would be the only clue as to my favorites....and my Shep is unromanced....for now anyway, that depends on the options available in ME3.

I hope if some ME squaddies are destined to die no matter what we do, BW maybe lets us choose our teams first and it will be a percentage of those (maybe 1, 2, 3, etc... of them) we don't choose that may die...I would still feel sorry and upset for most of them, but am able to spare those I love.

I honestly don't think that many people are going to die. Tragedies are too much of a bummer for more than 2 or 3 squadmates to die. I don't know that BioWare wants us to finish ME3 with a frown. There will probably be choice involved like Virmire. Or a choice to save a planet at the risk of losing a good friend/LI.

The second you mention 'worried' your going to have the Bioware Defence Force all over this attacking you.

And I'm sure your actions will affect who dies like ME2

As much I love a happy ending, I'm sort of half liking the idea of Shepard dying.

I wonder if Bioware has the quads for that ending? ;-)

It isn't a stretch to assume it's among those "wildly different" endings to the story that Casey spoke of anyway.
