I don't think it really matters. So far, I haven't seen anyone stating that there's additional dialogue if you choose to have a blood mage Hawke. Like everyone else in Kirkwall, he'll just sort of ignore it.
A bit disappointing, since he is all opposed to that, but whatever.

It adds nothing as far as I know.
Although there's one class-specific prompt you can do in Best Served Cold, if you're a Blood Mage.
