[Kingbox21]

when i try to install the game I am getting an error message that says the installation has halted while copying from the play disk.

I  have tried this on both an XP and Vista machine, but keep getting the same message.

Any idea's?

Not a clue, have you checked your disk(s) for scratches?

Disk looks good, they worked about a month ago.

It seems obvious (to me, anyway) that it is a read error.

If two different disc drives couldn't read the disc(s) properly, the disc(s) themselves would be suspect.  Not all surface defects on an optical medium are visible to the naked eye.

I suggest cleaning them using a suitable method and try again.  Google to find some common techniques.

If you notice any large overly-worn area (usually a slight discolororization than runs the full diameter of the disc) on the surface it may have been abraded enough that it has become unreadable in which case, cleaning won't help. But it's worth a shot.  There are also some commercial disc cleaners that claim to be able repair some minor surface defects though I have never actually used them myself.

Good advice. If you clean the disc and it still won't work, consider tyring it in another drive.

I had a DVD drive go bad in my comp last year, and it would read some discs, but not others. Finally replaced the drive, and all the "unreadable" discs became useable again.
