Bittersweet endings are often the most memorable... kinda hoping for that.

yeah. barely saving the day, straining your abilities to their breaking point, having to make very hard and sometimes tragic tactical decisions. FEELING like it was almost the end of the galaxy. lots of possible endings, so there can be lots of discussion with other players about how THEIR game turned out. lots of replayability too.

This. Don't know what kind of ****gots want a "rainbows and butterflies", happy ending.

I want several virmires. Maybe risk entire fleets to save one of your buddies. If sheperd continues to make dumb decisions, maybe end up with sheperd having to leave your LI to die in order to save earth.

Easy, glorious victory is only rememberable in ballads. In film and books, drama and attactment to characters is needed to make something rememberable.

I want 12-16 endings. I want 2-3 good endings, 2-3 few bad endings,  2-3 moderate endings, 2-3 renagade and paragon, and 2 true endings for full paragon or renegade. Many of the endings can only be unlocked with playing ME 2 and the main choices of ME 1. Good endings are hard to get and true endings can only be unlocked if you play the game a second time or played ME2.

I want real choices that effect the final outcomes and see what the future holds if Shepard does option X instead of option Y.

I want the best ending possible to be a "happy" ending (I know squadmates dying and stuff is dramatic and perhaps better for ONE playthrough, but I play Bioware games in to dust and I'd hate to know no matter what I do i'll lose squaddies X, Y and Z) with things becoming progressively worse.

"best" ending
good victory
costly victory
pyrrhic victory
defeat (warn future civilisations)
colossal defeat (complete annihilation)

I want an ending that is not perfect. No bunnies and sunshine. I don't even want it to end, I want no conclusion. The Reapers are a threat so massive a scale, not single game can bring them down. I want an ending which when having got everything right, leaves Shepard and an alive team having acquired nothing more but the chance to stop the Reapers. And if they didn't get everything right, that chance will come at high costs. And definetely worlds of hurt higher than that "suicide" mission had in ME2. And with everything right, I mean optimal mission outcomes, not "sunshine and sweets" paragon talking. Everyway is to be walked on shattered dreams, broken hearts and ripped bodies, every character will have to walk through hell, just to have the faintest hope in the end.

I want an ending that makes people weep of joy to finally have their hands on hope, and have them cry at the same time on how much it did cost to get there.

This is the final game of the trilogy.  Not concluding the story in some fashion at this point would be.....a catastrophe.  Foolish.  Idiotic even.

I meant the Reapers, sorry, should have clarified that.
Just like Ashley said, "This is going to be a war we have no place in". What can a single man and his squad do against those Reapers?
That's like having a group of twelve Navy SEALs fighting against a tank battalion. Sure, they can blow up two or three, but that's it.

Shepard, no matter how exceptionally skilled s/he and her/his team is simply can't defeat the Reapers. It is physically impossible. That is a job the civilizations of that Galaxy have to do, and taking out an armada of superiour enemies isn't going to be like "Rally everyone = Instant win".

What I meant is that Shepard concludes HER/HIS story/trilogy by achieving the means by which the civilizations have a chance to fight back. There is nothing more s/he could do. And I want the Reapers to deserve their justice as a true, galactic-wide menace. I would be severely disappointed if it took just a half of the game to destroy the entire Reaper threat.

That's still an incomplete end and still a bad idea.  It's one of the few things that could inspire me to not purchase the game and put my entertainment money elsewhere.

I thought we were gonna be able to play the game after the main story is complete. So all this "i hope for XYZ" ending may not happen.

Trickster ending. Where everyone belives that you are dead but you are actually ruling the galaxy from the shadows as the new Shadow Broker/Illusive Man or maybe even both. Perfect for those who play their cards right.

I just want an Epic ending. Doesn't matter who dies or lives as long as it's Epic and I'm not punished hopelessly (like all your squadmates dieing without another possible outcome or something like that. That's for failure endings.)

You should try hard to win, but I don't want to feel punished for, for example, not completing enough sidemissions or something like that.

What I'm afraid of is making a decision in the very beginning (or even in ME-2) and that prevents me from winning. Like I finally managed to recruit Morinth and right b4 I killed Samara (which KILLED ME to do) she was like "you'll regret this".....I hope that doesn't come back to bite me.....

I was thinking of two possible endings:

1: EVERYONE dies, and the closing scene is Shepard, emerging from a wrecked reaper, dirty and wounded (think uncharted 3 Plane scene) to find he is the last living being in the galaxy but the reapers are dead.

2: EVERYONE dies (supposedly, when in reality, another 'Ilos' has happened) and the cycle is broken, and all hope is lost until a radio signal is broadcasted from a distant planet, I Am Legend style.

I want a powerful ending, I want something that makes you go back and rethink your decisions and question all of them. I don't want the corny Return of the Jedi ending were everyone is celebrating.

Those poor poor Ewoks.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't buy that game.

What Bioware said is that ME3 is a war story. As such, I expect it to end like a war story. That is, it's all over - but at a great cost. Some deaths are needed. Including deaths of people close to Shepard.

However, that part needs to be affected by the player's choices.
I think some squad members dying is essential. But not the same ones every playthrough, but rather more like the SM, only there is no option of everyone surviving.

So yeah, a bittersweet ending I guess. Bioware mustn't take it to any extremes like the Reapers win (which would make the entire series feel redundant) or the Reapers are stopped, everyone lives and Shepard merrily marches along into the sunset with his LI (which would be completely unbelieveable).

I want a happy ending where Shepard, Garrus, Wrex, Legion, Mordin and Prothy travels the stars righting wrongs and kicking ass. I also want a happy ending where a new Council is elected to replace the old, and where TIM and Cerberus are rotten* corpses drifting through interplanetary space.

*Changed the tempus because my knowledge-fu failed me.

I doubt corpses can rot in space. The near 0 K temperature probably freezes the bodies to the core, killing or disabling any bacteria that might decompose them. And if they are in interplanetary space, they'll probably start orbiting the system's star. And if the orbit is unstable, they'll spiral towards the sun until they reach the distance where the bodies simply incinerate (the time needed for that would depend on the distance from the sun, so it can be a few years or millions of years). :P

I really want the ending Shep promised to Liara in LotSB, however, the more endings, the better, for as long as they all make sense and are bone-chillingly epic.

Corpses don't rot in space. B)
Moving on, I'd be happy if my favorite characters are alive and well and reaper thing gets over in a remarkable/surprising way. Also it will be nice if Shepard gets to live a happy life with his/her LI.

Buahahaha TIMs body floating around in space for millions of years until hes found by some super far off species and put on display as a primitive space monkey:devil:

Also..dont space him just throw his ass into a sun.

Also,I agree with the Liara and blue kids thing but with all LIs...I want to give Jack a home

I hope for several endings based on past choices.

1. A cheesy happy ending where the galaxy is saved and Shepard lives the rest of his life with his LI (possible marriage, with kids based on LI, as some LI's cant have kids with Shep due to medical reasons and race)

2. A happy ending, without the LI part.

3. A grey ending, the galaxy is saved, but Shepard has sacrificed alot. (Maybe humanity faces extinction due to there losses)

4. Shepard gives his own life to save the galaxy.

5. The Reapers win.

6. Shepard joins the Reapers.

I hope that no matter how it ends there's a epilogue, telling us how each race, important character, and squadmates are doing post-ME3 based on Shepards choices and interactions.

Just make sure whatever endings there are don't have some magic button that stops the reapers. If there's a big candy red button button that snuffs out the reapers very exisistence I'll be miffed.
