I keep reading on this forum how Tech Armor = roflstomp. Even some have hinted that tech armor is broken. Am I playing a different game? Because when I use tech armor, as soon as I walk into a room, all my shields disappear and my health is down to 25%. I haven't even started playing on insanity yet, i'm on my 4th playthru on hardcore. I my Tech Armor is upgraded to level 4 and regular bum LOKI mechs blow the armor off easy. Am I missing something?

EDIT: I'm posting this, cuz I'm on the Double Scion part of the Derelict Reaper and I'm sorry, it seems impossible. They shockwave spam, the recharge for tech armor is like 15 minutes, and i'm hitting them as hard as I can with my hand cannon and Mattock and i'm getting nothing.....

Are you using Assault or Power Armor?

Edit: and there are a few very helpful research upgrades.

They are Emergency Shielding, and the two special Shield upgrades, Hard Shields and the Redundant Field Generator that add to Assault Armor's versatility nicely since it gives a shield boost when it breaks.

Power Armor is great for a caster Sentinel, with the 15% power damage boost, but you need to keep you shields intact at all times or having to bring it up interferes with casting other powers.

Assault Armor is the one that's OP with it's Shield boost when it breaks.

What powers do you have evolved?

And which heavy weapons?

Heavy Warp or Heavy Reave works good depending on what you got.

I've used Tungsten ammo on either the Locust or Tempest.

Also, I've tried the Grenade Launcher for those two, the Rocket Launcher also helps to keep your distance, and then you can try the Arc Projector, but I haven't used that one much myself.

Not necessarily, it depends on what powers you've evolved and your BP. The Sentinel has a lot of flexibility.

Edit: in an earlier post, I mentioned some Heavy Weapons you could try to get past them.

But I went to thinking about the very end. And I find the end part so annoying that I bring the Cain to destroy that thing in one shot, so that's something else to consider for the level.

you read my mind. That's whats really holding me back, cuz I'm keeping the Cain for the ME core but that means I gotta manaully kill these freaking scions, sickening....

My class is sentinel, with the armor and I think where i screwed up is by not focusing on one power, i have like 6 different powers and only the armor is level 4....i think i'm gonna re train so i can get my warp up

I suggest you get your passive to Guardian. The 30% cooldown is very helpful. And Assault Armor.

So for the BP if you will redo that as well, I'd go with either Tungsten, Heavy Warp Ammo or Heavy Reave for this mission.

And if you go Heavy Reave you can ignore Warp if you don't usually detonate Warp Bombs.

I'm currently playing a caster sentinel insanity run. I've already done the assault sentinel thing where you just spam armour all the time but this is way more fun. Power armour and raider gives a 30% damage boost (Personnaly I don't miss the 10% cooldown given by guardian) The key is having squadmates with pull to set up your warp and throw. The beauty of the sentinel is that you have all bases covered. I breezed through overlord yesterday with an all biotic squad, Jack and Samara. Both had pull field and the max cooldown passive evolution. Here's my build

Power Armour
Raider
Heavy Warp
Throw Field
Area Overload
Cryo 1

I'm thinking about swapping overload for energy drain to help keep the armour up but I'd miss cryoblast.

I'm playing as a sentinel too although only on veteran but hut have just completed the IFF mission. The scions can be tough if you dont have the correct weapons or powers but I find the viper sniper rifle takes these guys out in seconds :o) Now even with Assault Armor you cannot just stand around and expect to live for long! You can move into the midst of a group of enemies that are mainly down to health and let the armor detonate. Then immediately re-raise it and not only does this reset your squadmates' cooldowns but it also gives you the time to find cover and/or take out the stragglers. Also max out your overload (as it overheats enemy weapons for several seconds at level 3) and warp and you should be kicking some serious arse ;o)

yea, I re-trained and took the Assault Armor, what a MASSIVE difference.....I've always balked at the sniper training, I took it in my second playthru and I hated it (i have a hard time poking my head out and avoiding getting shot). I'm a much better flanker, I like to setup guys like Grunt/Jacob in the middle, a biotic on the side and then I roll around the enemies (in most situations).

I'm glad that Assault Armor is helping you :o) And with it you CAN pop out of cover and snipe and you'll be nicely protected. The viper sniper rifle is really good because you can fire 8 rounds rapid fire before the scope drops. This kicks some serious damage to armoured opponents in a very short time, especially if you fire a power whilst you're doing it. Either spam a warp to drop the armor faster or a throw to finish them when they're down to health.I dropped the shadow broker like this so fast it was madness :o)

wait, you actually shot the shadow broker instead of fighting him hand to hand? the first time I played it, twice I tried using the Cain  only to be annihilated in the blast with him :pinched:

obviously.....it's tough to do that cuz the recharge time on shield is so long......

if you want to bring down scions fast and easy, stasis does a great job.
tungsten ammo is also a favourite of mine as sentinel.

Assault Armor works so well, not to mention when you use your armor it recovers your teammates cool down fully. So just use like Thane/Miranda Miranda/Garuss(Kasumi) Those combinations with sentinel are just stupid powerful.

If you want to get the most out of your biotics you're going to need to bring at least 1 squaddie with pull. Otherwise no warp bombs and throw is very weak unless the target has been pulled first. Of course if you're just spammng assault armour then ignore this advice as you'll need to save your cooldowns for armour regen.
