Hi, I want a solid good starting character to play as i would rather have bethany over Carvier on my team. if possible bescause i hate carvier.

If you want Bethany then you'll have to play as a rogue or warrior.
These two topics gives pretty good builds for a berserker/vanguard/reaver warrior and assassin/shadow or duelist rogue, even if you don't play on nightmare difficulty:

Be sure to read the guides fully or you'll make AreleX sad
You can't really go wrong though, unless you place skillpoints all over the place.

I liked being a two hander in Dragon age orgins i liked rogue but warrior had fun to. someone told me there a potion that resets your stats and talents.

you should be aware that 2h warriors have a pretty serious bug at the moment concerning Sunder.
I would suggest you go rogue, it is a belligerently fun time.

I would say rogue as well. Much more versatile and is the best CCC inducer in the game with disorienting criticals.

I'm having fun with my 2 handed warrior atm (first playthrough). As the others have mentioned rogue, it seems that you can't really go wrong either way. I'll play all of the classes at some point.
The Maker's Sigh from the Black Emporium is what you're looking for to respec your characters.
I've also run into the sunder bug. If you play a 2 handed warrior, just skip it or reload if you find that your warrior has a negative critical chance%.
