Mouseover blackscreen crash

I have a problem with my game crashing when I mouseover talents or items. In original DA2 it was only if I browsed talent trees but since Legacy it also blackscreens when I mouseover items in inventory. It's not always, but the longer you browse a window the higher risk of crash.

The crash is a total blackscreen crash and I have to force restart.

I have the newest graphic drivers (ATI), running DX9 and no other problems with playing the game. Settings for textures and such seem to make no difference.

Anyone with similar problems? Have browsed the forums many times but seem to be alone....help :)

Are you playing in windowed or fullscreen? Also what OS? I'll likely have to send you a PM with instructions on where to send some diagnostic information so we can look in to this for you.

Have you tried a reinstall ever? Perhaps you just have corrupted assets - i've seen that metastisize in a few peculiar ways since launch.

I'm playing in fullscreen, windows 7 OS. I havn't tried to reinstall the game, but it has been like this since day one of DA2.
I even planned talents ahead on a site and ended up just clicking talent trees to speed-place points :)
Feel free to send me a PM on how to correctly find the diagnostic information needed.

The problem at this point is there's ALREADY was a description of what was needed for diagnostic information, and I am fairly sure it includes how to obtain the information as well, pinned right on top.  I wrote it, and named it with the words "Before anything else" to start off, but you didn't choose to examine it for content, apparently.

I did read (most) of your wall of text and found nothing useful at the moment Gorath.
Luke offered to PM me on "Where to send" diagnostics. Even if that PM didn't include instructions on how to aquire said diagostics I am sure I would have figured that out.

Do you actually add anything positive to these forums? Really...

Open the game launcher, then click configuration. Then click file, and "save a report of system configuration".

Then email that to the place (should be saved in My Documents)

Correct me if I'm wrong (I may be misreading) but Gaxia implied that he figured it out.

To Gaxia: I'd just try a reinstall. The save game files reside in my docs so they're safe...and a reinstall of the game and patches cannot hurt more than just taking 15 minutes of your time :)

Thanks to you guys who actually tried to help.
I have reinstalled the game and saved a config report as suggested.
"Test browsed" talent trees for 15 straight minutes without blackscreen. Hopefully it was as easy as a reinstall.

Let me know if the problem returns and I'll swoop in to collect the diag files. It doesn't really let us know anything if your files are corrupt in a certain way so if that was the case afterall then I won't need to PM you :)

Luke. Swooping is bad. Try heroic charging.
