yeah, it pissed me off that Lucas arts was going to retcon them for the ridiculous Clone Wars animated series and she quit over it. Now we'll never know how it ends. :/

Incidentally, have you read any of the Legacy of the Force books? The second one, titled Bloodlines, was written by Ms. Traviss and she drops a few hints here and there that Etain's and Dar's boy is still alive in the time setting of those books, and at least one of Omega squad is alive too (no idea which, though).

Pretty much pushed the genre of Star Wars into the realm of saturday morning cartoons for kids.
Haven't had anything decent Star Wars since before that came out.

I myself think they won't and that Anakin won't become Vader. Im not a hardcore Star Wars fan (I was introduced to the series by Lego Star Wars if you can believe that) but anakin never became Master or got an Apprentice. The way they did it, none of it fits into Star Wars 3 at all.

See, that's the kind of twist that sealed the books as one of the best I've ever read. Traviss keeps dropping ridiculous things like this on us without making it seem like an ass-pull. I haven't seen that is Star Wars since Timothy Zahn! Who'd have thought the antagonist from the first book becomes the ace-in-the-hole for the fifth?!

*edit- haven't you read 501st? it was supposed to be the penultimate book and told how uthan did that as well as some other details, but it never wrapped up the story arc, since there was supposed to be one more.

But really, saying that your favorite character was a mando isn't saying much. All the characters were mandos. By the end of the fourth book, anyone who was even remotely related to the Skiratas had been adopted, except for the Wookie in the second book. I forget her name... Ennacca?

when you think about it, the entire premise of the Sith and Jedi philosophies makes no sense either. which is why my favorite Jedi was Jusik, and my favorite characters were invariably mandalorians. they skipped the whole half assed moral message and got on to the points that actually mattered.
It made even less sense when (Cartoon Network was it or what?) tried to explain it with that one planet with the guys who turned into good/bad Griffins and the old man who controlled the force. No sense at all. I left even more confused then ever before.

I did. Isn't that the fifth?
It's been a while; but I do remember a bit where she tested some bioweapon on herself and survived (I can't remember what she did after that) and then the Empire used the virus she'd been working on in the first book to genocide her home planet. Later on, Skirata had her create an anti-virus that they all spread throughout Keldabe by coughing on things. I don't recall her actually curing anyone of the aging problem. My memory might be spotty, though.

I seem to remember being convinced the Sith weren't all crazy during my time at the sith academy on Korriban in KOTOR. I forget how they put it but it made some sense.
I always liked the Sith more. The Jedi were always too mixed with politics like the Council in ME. It's just that most people think they're all pure evil because of Palpatine the douchebag who ruined it for everyone. They're disciplined, obscure and mysterious. I love they're style.
