Everyone:

... I know you can activate the "Legacy" DLC at any point during DAII, but what I'm wondering is, if you activate it in, say, Act I, do you need to complete it in that act, or can you complete it in subsequent acts?

I'm just curious because I see the griffon statue in Gamlen's Lowtown home, but I don't want to play "Legacy" until at least Act II, and maybe even the third act.

P.S. From a role-playing perspective, what's the "best" act in which to activate the "Legacy" DLC? I usually put my surviving sibling in the Grey Wardens or, if not that, Bethany winds up a Circle mage (Carver will always wind up dead or in the GW).

You can play it in any act. Even post-game. Though if you do it post-game, it still happens in Act III, meaning the dialogue and such it all assuming Meredith and Orsino have yet to go eldritch abomination on each other and Anders has yet to scream "Jihad!"

Selecting the statue will teleport you the DLC's location. You have the chance to come back to Kirkwall once. Just once. Story-wise, it doesn't make sense for Hawke to return at all, let alone wait years to continue the trail, so I'm not sure if you can continue it between acts.

As for you second question - I played it with a post-campaign game and enjoyed it that way. I wish it'd take place after the Gallows' battle officially.

Edit: Ninja'd.

Thanks for the advice, folks. Here's another question: If you activate "Legacy" in Act II or Act III, after your surviving sibling has gone his/her own way, is there an opportunity to bring that Grey Warden/Circle mage/templar sibling into the DLC? Judging from the trophies list, the answer is yes, but I'd much prefer to have that confirmed by someone who has played the DLC.

I think I've seen one or two Bioware devs. answer this question with a 'yes' with the additional information that they will give up a good explanation on why they're going with you. Don't know the explanation myself as my computer currently is in the repair shop (I've found an old laptop of mine to write this on).

I have an endgame save, with Carver having NOT joined back with me, ie he is greyed out in the companion choice leaving Hawk's mansion. When I started Legacy, he was an option to choose, but since my other completed play also had him, I wanted a different feel so I picked another crew. When I got the bridge scene introduction, he was actually there with my others, and basically says, since he was attacked he was given leave to come and find out what's going on. So as long as he is alive he will be an option to play in the DLC.
