Hey
The "Resting" window can open well enough, but the two options can't be triggered.
Question: How do I use debug mode to force my party to rest?
Also, if anyone can point me to a patch of the Neverwinter Nights 2 platinum edition that's compatible with Steam, and provide instructions as to how to install them, I'd be excessively happy.

There aren't any official patches beyond 1.23, which is what Steam has. If you are using Steam you are fully patched. There are a variety of user-developed fixes for bugs or features that people disliked that are available in the vault. They should be compatible with the steam version. Some of them will be incompatible with others and sometimes a person may call something a bug fix when it is really just making the game operate the way they wanted it to.
My own primary offering in this area is the MotB Makeover SoZ Edition which does a variety of things including adding the SoZ party editor and crafting, allows companions to multi-class, removes the limit on the number of companions, prevents the spirit eater from losing points when idle, fixes a number of items including the Nasher's items and the Dream Sword, and alters the plot to allow for using some of the OC companions and for resolving some of the puzzles in alternative fashion. This makes a lot of changes so I strongly recommend that you zip up your existing MotB campaign folder before installing this so that it will be easy to revert if you later choose to.

hello. i installed the patch you indicate, but im still losing points and i still cant rest... im in the act 2, in the dream, after fighting madga in the veil. i really need help since im always dieing now...

i´ve installing the motv spirit eater and im still getting remove points, incluinding i die after 2 minuts losing all my life.

As for the resting issue - if you have it - check this out: cannot trade or rest
Another possible solution is to download the "Stone of Many Alarms" from nwvault. It is made for SOZ but it works just fine in MOTB. You will have to give yourself one with the console since there aren't any to be found/bought otherwise.
