Hi, I'm a bit new to the forums and this question might have been asked before, so please bare with me.

So I've installed and played Dragon Age: Origins for the PC and recently bought the Ultimate Edition. Turns out I accidently bought the European version, so my Awakening won't work; different region coding (?). What I don't quite understand is that Origins works fine when I use the European Origins disk.

Can I uninstall my DA:O and reinstall it using my UE Disk to play it and Awakening? (With my original save files still  accessible?)

Thank you for any advice.

Ummmm....

Well, you can still play DOA and awakening if you install the EU version discs. But, I dont know if you will still have to saved files.

However, you can try to transfer your saved files to the new installation files.

See if it works. Hope I helped!!

This question belongs in the technical help section.

But to shed some light on your issue.
I have looked up your details and see you have the PC version of the games.
The reason Origins works is because its still using the installed files on your computer and when you got the Ultimate Edition it saw the game installed already so just installed Awakening.

To actualy get it to work you need to uninstall the game completly then reinstall it all from the Ultimate Edition download or dick you got.  This will let you play the whole thing completly.

As for your saves, I do not know if you can back them up and restore them to this new version of the game but its worth a try. You can also attempt a refund of your product and attempt to get the correct region you need.

Thank you, that is also what I was believing. Also, my mistake for not placing this in the right section. I'll see if I can move the thread to the right place in the event another person falls into the same situation as myself. Your response has been very helpful!

FYI, when you uninstall, you will be given the option to keep your saves. They will work fine with either PC version. That is not true for consoles.
