Came across one of these tough guys in the Circle Tower while its on lockdown and plagued with shades and the like. Ooops, I broke a vial and now this dead knight is punishing me.
Can I take care of him later when I've got higher levels and bring Shale to the party after saving the tower or must I confront this Revenant now as its my only chance?

Yes, you can leave it for later. You can return to the upper levels of the tower anytime after you're done.

There is one revenant you can't return to later - the one in the random encounter in Denerim.
