So... With the announcement that cerberus turns on you in ME3, and what was it... 40% of your enemies will be cerberus?
I am extremely frustrated, in the first game whether you save the first council, or let them die so that humanity can run the show, they all abandon you and do not offer any support whatsoever.
If, out of frustration for the aforementioned council screwing you over... you decide to completely dedicate yourself to cerberus, you will be getting screwed by them too in the next game.
Anyone else starting to feel like its completely pointless? Kind of hoping a possible ending for ME3 involves Shepard being able to volunteer to somehow become the dominant personality of a reaper so I can kill all those pricks myself =\\

Try looking at it from another angle.
ME1 - You ruin Cerberus's plans. You ruin Saren's lpans. You save the Council, they believe you in the end.
ME2 - Before you even get the chance to visit the Council, TIM, whether benig a troll or some form of wanky vengeance trip, lets out all these rumours and reports that you are working with them, so when you finally get to meet the Council, they no longer trust you completely, but they do offer you your Spectre status back.
ME3 - Cerberus and/or TIM are indoctrinated and dont want Shep to succeed in preventing the Reapers plans once again, so they attack.
Nothing has to be as bad as it seems.

I think it's kind of an important element of the story really. Shepard and a select few are the only ones really doing anything about the Reaper threat, they're the heroes of the galaxy (and the heroes of the game).
We don't really know much about ME3 so it's hard to make a judgement of why Cerberus might be enemies but there are plenty of possibilities that could justify it. As for the other people that have failed to support Shepard, they also have their reasons. The Reapers are a terrifying threat so it's understandable that people wouldn't want to believe in them and frankly there's just not that much evidence.

Its just so upsetting to me because I'm considering do a completely pro cerberus playthrough for me2, not waking up grunt, not activating legion, giving them to cerberus if tim asks, making sure garrus tali jacob and miranda survive, not really caring about the others
...and of course, saving the base for tim
All because the council, specifically the turian one were huge a-holes in the first game, so i got them killed, and the new council wouldn't give me the time of day (u dont even get back ur spectre status from the human-led council for some reason)...
i mean if its always like this why arent the renegade options truly renegade, why do i have to help the humans in me1 if im renegade, why do i have to help cerberus if im renegade, how about a chance to save the base for myself, or to take jack up on her idea of going pirate instead of returning to earth for the trial... i have abandonment issues, and every1 is abandoning me

Pick Anderson as council member and he will offer you your Specter status back. Udina is just a cloaca.

Actually, all you have to do is save the council. If Anderson isn't on the council he'll just go behind Udina's back and arrange a meeting anyway.

I didnt save em, and set udina to lead the new one, so i didnt get spectre status back...
U still get a meeting with just anderson if u dont save them and choose udina over anderson... but u dont get spectre status
we'll see how it goes with not saving em but having anderson lead the new one...

I think you are asking too much for a game, you have to underestand that the game has to follow a story in order to reach the end, if the developers allowed this kind of things (like...allowing you to keep the base or following jack and becoming a pirate) there won't be any kind of way to connect Mass Effect 2 with Mass Effect 3. If you were a renegade and you didn't want to help the humans, then Mass Effect 3 wouldn't make sense. Yes, they let you take some important decisions, but you can't just make Shepard do whatever you want him to do.
