Also, you should try kevL's console command in the keep, before you talk to Vale.
* p.s. how different the world would be if your PC could just say, "wait a second, I've got some wyrmsage left...."

What cutscenes did you get at (1) Crossroad Keep w/ Vale, (2) in Brelaina's office. Here's Danger's playthrough of what should happen ( bottom of part 50, top of 51 )
just meant the regular port by Vale, srry. So yes, enter the command before talking to Vale .. even before the fight w/ BG startsFirerush wrote...

Somewhat off topic, but I like to grab amusement where I find it...
... the remarkably common "dead Sevann" bug here lends itself to an amazingly simple solution, because something works here that never, ever works since way back when they didn't know enough to number Baldur's Gate.
You all may consider this a puzzle....

In case it adds to the possible diagnosis, and going back to my original query, it seems the conversation "20_brelaina_ald_0038" is dropping out on the action "ga_move("wp_2016_pc_2")"

Also, from a couple other scattered things I've seen (and the fact that this never happens to me, despite my torturing the game with all the mods it can bear), try this:
Before talking to Vale, click and right-click on your main PC, then
`
debugmode 1
rs ga_party_limit(12)
debugmode 0
`
It doesn't have to be 12, but 6 or more probably to be on the safe side.
Also, you may want to try kevL's console commands above but be sure to do the click and right-click on your main PC first, if you haven't already. The PC has to be both the target and the actor for most of the console commands to work.

Assuming he's not, the script that fires on entering B's office ( 2016_cliententer ) relies on four conditions for the Zhjaeve scene. The first is FiredFromPartyTransition(), which I'm not familiar with so let's hope that's ok.
The other three:
1.
rs ga_global_int("00_nAct", "2")
2.
rs ga_global_int("b2300Finale", "1")
3.
Quest "Murderer!" (must be complete, or rather beyond the "Sir Grayson will make you his squire ..." stage)
- Because of your elevation to nobility, you have avoided extradition to Luskan and will instead stand trial in Neverwinter.
rs ga_journal("20_squiring", 40, 1, 1, 0)
( The Trial should be done, i include that command for use in case the Journal didn't update correctly. )
If your journal says #3 has indeed been met, try standing in Brelaina's office after the BG battle and run commands #1 & #2, then follow them up with
rs 2016_cliententer()
Alternately, before the BG battle, run #1 & #2 then defeat Garius and let Vale shunt your PC onward ..

you've got me thinking about the PartyLimit, tho .. but even that should be okay since she's not actually being added to the party, until the conversation that you've cited
So here's another question for our dear confused interlopers, Does the conversation between Aldanon and Brelaina start, at all?

That's probably why the script problem was never fixed... since the bug was rare and virtually unreproducible without actually solving it, once people found a workaround, incentive to keep after it went away. Especially given the torturous methodology of several-hours-apart forum questions and answers.

After the battle with black garius's men, I loot the corpses and get vale to port me back. After the fire burning/Priests's rising cinematic I see the long conversation between Aldanon and Brelaina, but when it ends Zhjaeve isn't in the room, and I tried searching everywhere for her, and I mean EVERYWHERE, despite them saying I should talk to the prisoner there is no Githzerai prisoner to talk to.
I'll try some of these solutions and see if they work

how do I know, because I spawned the DM with console commands and tried to get him to force zhjaeve into my party a dozen times. Then I tried spawning amon jerro (who I haven't met yet) and he appeared just fine. so apparently zhjaeve isn't in my game at all as I cannot even spawn her with the DM

Do you have a custom Appearance.2da in override? (i do, Pain might want to ****** yer ears up 'ere)
line 588: label "NPC_Zhjaeve_MaleOnly" should maybe read "NPC_Zhjaeve"

Try searching your drives for "2DA_X2.zip" & "Appearance.2da" - esp. the latter. (The former contains the official version)
If you *know* you have a custom Appearance.2da, back it up & go to line 588 in a fresh copy. Then copy all of line 588 from the official version into it. Finally, try to spawn Zhjaeve again -- or heck, just rename the override version temporarily and see what happens.
i'm making a few assumptions here, ya

I created a backup in the override and copied the stuff form the official, though it made not actual changes, if this doesn't work what should I do? I contacted Atari and told them the problem and bioware is useless thanks to their new browser change and having removed all the old forums

geez, I'm at a loss.
.. was really hoping there was a separate .2da w/ an invalid entry.
All i can suggest at this point is backing up your Saves (etc) and re-installing the game. (It might actually be a corruption in the saves, however). Both the DM and my commands above should have brought Z into play .. and unless someone more versed in Models or fubar
has something to say .... Could you open that .2da in a text editor (no wordwrap) and copy & paste line 588 "NPC_Zhjaeve" here?
