Indeed. Malkavians are genre savvy and have access to the script. The only bit a Malkavian PC gets wrong is identifying a certain character as the "Dark Father". Just goes to show how thoroughly said character has everyone fooled, though.

That said, fun as a Malkavian is, some of the vanilla dialogue for other clans is hilarious. The gaming references and female character specific dialogues alone were totally worth it. Also the snark. It still blows away anything I have seen in a game since.

I played the seduction-caste (I can't remember what their name was, they were one of the "nobler" castes) and then didn't feel like playing a second character once I finished but had my mind set on a malkavian on my second playthrough when I first installed the game (knew they were supposed to be able to foreshadow things so I didn't want to spoil my first playthrough.)

SPOILER:
Does the malkavian PC actually know about the "sisters" being the same person right away, and comment on it?

Spoiler!!

I want to say yes but I'm not sure if it really means that. She does call her the daughter of of the 2 headed god. I can't decide if knowing the game is making me think that way.

Spoiler:
Kind of funny how the Gypsy foreshadows the entire game, down to the most confusingly simple line yet: Don't open it.

It was kinda creepy when I realised it.

Yup its one of the things I mentioned earlier in the thread. The Malkavian figures things out way ahead of everyone else, including its own player. Thats part of why its better on a second playthrough. You can see the wisdom in the depths of the gibberish you say.

Another reason not to play Malkavian first: After my first playthrough ( in which I chose Malkavian) I just didn't want to go with any of the other clans with their boring, not-crazy-with-foresight dialogue

Already answered by Cutlass Jack, but I will second his reply: yes.

She refers to the women as the white and black daughters of Janus. Janus is a Roman god typically depicted as having one head with two faces. Dead giveaway if you know anything about mythology.

Pay attention to how a Malkavian refers to other characters. She will often give you hints about a character's role in the story or their true nature. The only one where she steers the player wrong is the previously mentioned "Dark Father", but that makes sense considering the tabletop story Bloodlines leads into.

Malkavian is definitely a clan everyone should play at least once for the unique experience. I hear the same about Nosferatu, but I could never bring myself to try a character that spends most of the game trying to avoid human contact. That said, I prefer Tremere from a gameplay, role-playing, and appearance perspective. After I played a Malkavian once, I felt no pressing need to do so again.

YES
I got it in 2004, which I believe was the year of release
my PC had some trouble running it (LONG load times, jumpy fps) but even so, it was well worth it!
like others said, amazing replayability value
in fact, I still play it to this day
just remember to get the latest unofficial patch for it (you don't need to install the game's official patch)
also, be sure to get the ENBSeries tweak for it, as the bloom just seems to fit the Chinatown lights so naturally, and really make the game a lot prettier in general. :)
