I can't really agree with calling some of these characters average; There are some great characters here. Perhaps a better way to phrase it would be calling them natural, as I can easily imagine some of these faces being major characters in an epic.

Here's my attempt at an average American:

I think he'll work pretty well for the City Elf story.

Here's my attempt at a guy who's been around for a while and gained some wisdom:

He was modeled (subconsciously, I suppose) after several real people I've met. Or at least, I can see elements of several people in him.

Ann actually reminds me a bit of one of my sisters.
Saurel, your second guy kinda violates rule #2, but not because he's ugly or anything; I just felt like making the same expression as he had. A sympathetic grimace, if you will.
Soraya definitely violates rule #1, in my opinion.
Keiso, both good additions, but I'm partial to Dwarven faces.
Makoto is perfect, but Genevieve's skin is a little bit too smooth, in my opinion. On the other hand, she is a Noble, yes? So I suppose that may actually be average.
Uri looks just like a Dwarf you'd meet at the pub after work.
Darius might be another violator of rule #1.
Katie is absolutely fantastic. If Charles Dickens were alive today, he'd probably write a book about her. That's what I immediately imagined when I saw her.
Dianna reminds me of one of the Bennet sisters.
3 good characters from xKerberos, and I think Caleb is the better one.
Helena is very nice, Ekas. I think you managed to capture the slightly-overworked-student-of-magic look quite well.

go to my games, then click on pc, find the character you want to post, right click on their portrait then go to properties, copy the web adress that show up, paste it on the post you making inbetween [ img ] [ /img ], with out the spaces.

You can't always be sure whether what you find really pretty is above average to others.

Sometimes, the "pretty" most people can agree on is in fact boring,
because it's sort of a compromise between many different tastes.

Here are my current chars, which I think look realistic and personable (?).
So, simply judge for yourself whether they're pretty or not:

Also I think average does not equate ugly or nescessarily even plain. In my mind an average person's looks are not flashy(I kind of liken Megan Fox as flashy). She/he may be attractive but in a natural and not an attention grabbing way and I guess thats what I had in mind when creating Katie.

I think Katie would be considered pretty cute The only thing that would turn people off IRL would be that she looks like she is very sad.



Which is a quality I like, but thats the only thing I could see detracting from her being considered pretty good looking.

Yeah, yeah…
Anyway, I meant Native American, but I hate using that term. It rubs me the wrong way. So…American. There are of course thousands of tribes to choose from, but I didn't try to model him after anyone in particular; I just played around until I found one that worked.

Anyway, all of the new additions are great, and while you (maerae) may not consider them 'flashy', I consider them to be quite fetching. I know what you meant, and agree completely, but personally, I find the more realistic faces to 'jump out' immediately, because I can actually imagine meeting people like them. If you can't imagine them as being real, then you can't have any emotional attachment to them. I've never been big on make-up or pedicures, fashion, jewelry, etc. in my RPG's. I don't think they're bad things in general, just unnecessary and unrealistic in the middle of an epic battle. One quibble I have about character creation is that I may want to change how someone looks after a few of the darker events of the game. My female Human Noble, for instance, is very well taken care of and pampered at the beginning, but I know that's not going to last. Hopefully someone will mod in the ability to change your portrait, at least, during play.

Hehe, yea I purposely made her to look sad; trying to convey that she was sheltered and lost some things she can never get back. Yea deep I know.

Seems like some Goths (with halitoses), I think they're nice, especially the girl.
