Hello,

Just recently purchased the game during the Steam summer sale, and I am enjoying it immensely.

The only issue is that I am hovering around 35 FPS with dips here and there down to 25-20.

I am running with all settings maxed, 1920x1080.

Shouldn't I be able to max this out with no frame rate dips? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I already tried the client extender, it did not help.

Maybe I used the client extender incorrectly. Anyone out there having a similar issue?

I'm using an older card(s) and getting 15-30 fps w/ shadows off. (Bloom & normal mapping often off, AAx4, 1280x1024)

it sounds like the fps you're getting is normal; the general consensus is that the graphics code was not entirely optimized when NwN2 was written, and that dynamic shadows are in themselves a heavy, heavy draw. What sort of fps you getting with Shadows off .. i'm curious?

I am getting 60 FPS constant without shadows on. I'd much rather it be coding of the game than something with my system... now I can play and enjoy without constantly agonizing over the frame drops! Thanks a bunch for the reply :)

For smoothest framerate, I basically turn off all the Graphics checkboxes except Render Grass. Also, I notice a big jump in game performance by manually going into my vid card's control panel and enabling Multi-core Threading. Nights 2 doesn't have that enabled by default, so it's usually only drawing on one processor if you have a multi-core computer.

NWN2 is not multi-core aware, it can't use more cores even if they are available. Now your computer may doing things to other programs because of that setting, but it's not making nwn2 use multiple cores.
