Oh yeah, casual outfits or the nature of the outfits is not connected to this suggestion in any way.

No offence, but is it really that important to some people to be able to dress up these characters? With characters like Thane, Jack and Mordin, the outfit is a huge part of their personality. Imagine having Thane wearing a heavy armor. It would be terrible. When I think of Mordin, I think of his red and white doctor outfit. Why would you change that? It's a part of the character. In my opinion, Mass Effect 2 did it perfectly.

Again, I'm not trying to be an ass. I just don't get the fascination with dressing up your squadmates.

Because the point is that you can get to customize their armor, while retaining their personality.

Think of Mass Effect 2. Or the Apperance Packs. They did have two (or three) different outfits for your characters didn't it? That's not pointless dressing up, and yet simply being able to swap the unique parts to achieve a more complex look (that, as I have said, still contains the personality of the character) and a more strategical approach is?

Did they say a while ago that they're going to have casual and combat outfits with some customization?

You missed the point of pheadons post.

If you were able to customize thanes outfit, it would all be within the spirit of the character. I would assume any customization of thane would involve things that play into the stealthy and indirect nature of his character.

Perhaps altered jackets with kibbles and bits like padding or shield parts. Perhaps he would don something a little more stealthy (his sking kinda stands out a bit) perhaps something like the recon mask (like when you are in atmospherelss evirons.

Reread the op.

Sort of.

A) Casey Hudson said that Ashley has at least two outfits, the jacket one and the armored one.

B) We have a screenshot of James Vega wearing his casual outfit.

C) Casey Hudson said that he and Preston Watamuniak were working on squad armour customization.

Then it sounds like we just have to wait and see. And constantly demand that they show it until they do. It worked last time.:P

Just 2 problems what about tali and why would your crew let you "play dress me up" with them.

The great thing about customization options, is that they're usually optional. People like you, who are perfectly comfortable only using one or two outfits can do that. People like me, who really like to mix it up -- even mission to mission, can tailor our options to our  tastes.

I'd be happy they all of the character used armor at all. You have no idea how pleased I was that Liara was actually in a hard-suit for most of LotSB. I really hope that Ashley's catsuit is just her casual appearance, as well. I loved suiting her up in some heavy Ursa armor back in ME1.

Don't worry SandTrout Casey Hudson stated on twitter a while back that Ashley will have full body armor. The pics we have seen for the Collectors Edition are just alternate variants. I don't know what the plan is with the catsuit though. :)

Because you are the commander, and you call the shots over which tactic you will follow, as well as which apparel will fit better for it.

Tali? Either disable changing the helmet, or have different Quarian looking helmets.

I fully support this idea, fantastic job, Phaedon! My all-teal-colored team may not be so far off... but how will they sell the slightly recolored Ashley outfit now...? :bandit:

Those won't actually be in the CE apparently.

Best idea I've seen on here in awhile!!!

This way... each squadmate can keep their uniqueness... yet we can have our squad look like an actual team (same patterns/colors).

I'd just like to add that.... you'd need a slot for arm/shoulder pieces like in ME2 for Shepard. That way we can give them stuff like the asymmetrical defense layer or the N7 shoulder piece....

EDIT: We really need to push this! This is something that ME2 was severly lacking!!!

I like the idea of different/similar helmets. Would really allow for some unity when it comes to appearance.

Priestly said that they sent whatever they had at retailers. There's a reason that you didn't see anything with a bigger height than that of 5 pixels released by BioWare.

I love this idea, anything to make ME3 more complex and bigger like ME1 was.

Good suggestion, I fully agree with it.

And I like how you even made an image to go with it, haven't seen those since the days of Ecael.

Ah yes, I remember her threads... I loved reading them back when I still simply lurked around the forum...
I wonder what happened that made her go away... :(

Dunno, but I always suspected her to be an undercover dev (or devs), here to poll what we thought of Concept X.

This would be great if we have it in ME3.

And if can't have that type of customization, and if upgrades are still done like ME2, I'd be more than happy with the armors visually showing the new upgrades.

So for example, when we would get an upgrade like the Trauma Module that replaces the original module installed on the back; then the new Trauma Module would then show up on everyone's individualized armor.

There are two customization options I fully support:

THIS topic for armour customization Image IPB

Image IPB     and fully customizable controls for ME3
