Yup because the part where you're forging alliances, visiting alien homeworlds (Thessia, Palaven, Rannoch etc), and battling the Reapers totally means that ME3 will ONLY be focused on Cerberus.

Great logic, my friend. ;)

Because that wasn't obvious exaggeration right?

Fine precise and small words. Their organization gets a far greater spotlight than it needs.

What better organization to use, to forge alliances though?

I could see Shepard go meet with the leaders of a planet and ask, "I need your support against the Reapers."

Then they say to Shepard, "But, you work for Cerberus!!!"  :o

*Cerberus pops in* "Shepard, we want you dead?!"

The the leaders go, "OK, we'll help you fight the Reapers, Shepard, if you can save us from Cerberus!"  :o

Then Shepard goes, "Looks like I've got a job to do..." B)

All the while, TIM is sitting back, wherever he is, working all the angles to defeat the Reapers.

At this point I'm personally like Johnny Five from Short Circuit, "Malfunction. Need input." :alien:

Ehh, at E3 Casey said they are working with the Reapers and we had to find out why that is...

Which interview was this?  Not having any luck finding it so far.

Because that wasn't obvious exaggeration right? Not to mention since Cerberus is working with (or pretending to working with whatever) the Reapers they're even stealing some of their spotligt.

Fine precise and small words. Their organization gets a far greater spotlight than it needs.

So you take back the hyperbole that Cerberus is the primary focus of ME3? Good.

The Reapers are important. That's why 60% of the enemies in ME3 will be Reapers (or Reaper-related) compared to 40% of Cerberus forces and not vice versa. The war will focus on the Reapers but this number should prove that Cerberus still has a significant role plot-wise. I mean come on... did you really think that TIM will just disappear after the events of ME2?

*cough*

Sorry didymos, that was my final thought on it.

@Savber100: Right because we automatically know the other 60% is automatically Reapers.

There's no way it might be including aliens and mercs right? Naaah. But no I didn't think they'd just "vanish" I thought they would be background noise. And human dominance with Cerberus chronic backstabbing disorder that's gonna blow up in their face once again isn't significant when you're looking at the extermination of all species. Regardless I'll stop didymos.

Thanks.  It's certainly worthy of discussion, but it's also one of those subjects. Hell, I even got sucked into it without thinking earlier in the thread.

Good idea... for someone that's supposed to represent the "best and worst of Humanity," Bioware sure has been pushing the "worst" side of TIM, lol.

I've been wondering if an Anton Chigurh-type character could work in ME3?

Be that Kai Leng, Tazzik or someone else, just to make the setting more personal than fighting Reapers or TIM. regardless of true motives.

I think it can... look at Thane, Kai Leng seems colder than Thane, but woven from the same cloth.

Oh I'm sure they'll be the occasional looters or merc group to handle. But as you said, the war is between the Reapers and galaxy so I won't be surprised that we'll be fighting husks and giant Reapers more than half of the game. If ME3 doesn't do that, I'll join you in burning Bioware for that. :P

Also in answer to your final paragraph (and to take this slightly more on-topic) that'll depend on what Cerberus is playing at with both Shepard and the Reapers which is what we're discussing in this wonderful topic created by didymos. :D

Is Cerberus playing a gamble here in believing that the Reapers want to bring the human race to the next level of ascension? If so, the viewpoint changes as Cerberus is no longer stupid as they try to stop Shepard from ruining the Reaper's plan to bring humanity to near godhood by become a single mind and entity as a perfect evolution of organics and machines. TIM isn't a b/w man; if he sees an opportunity to use the Reapers to humanity's advantage, he'll take it.

It is significant because humanity's fate rests on these two people: TIM and Shepard. So yeah.. what Cerberus does will probably decide the fate of our species.

This is why we need to figure out what Cerberus is trying to gain in appearing to "join" the Reapers. (See? I brought this back on-topic :P

Oh, I see what happened. Basically, that's what Casey told all the Gameinformer and IGN folk out there, and the latter decided to simplify and dramatize his words for extra effect...

Not trying to offend anyone here, but did we really need Casey to say that we need to find out why Cerberus is working with the Reapers?

Cerberus is a fanatical pro-human organization, the fact that they're now working for the Reapers is a MAJOR stretch. I would have thought it would have been a given that we would have to find out the hows and whys of their involvement with the Reapers' extinction plans.

All the Cerberus hate is rather annoying. Why is it so frustrating that they play an important role in Mass Effect?

It's not. I love shooting them.

And I say that the Cerberus love is illogical. It's a fact that not all of their actions are related to the Reaper threat. In fact, most that we know have nothing to do with it.

How can you justify it, realistically or morally?

Hah, knew there would be more to it than just 'indoctrinated lololol'. Some people are so eager to hate Cerberus they missed the part about that barely making any sense at all on it's own.

Shall be interested to find out how messy the tangled web is that TIM has woven when I play the game itself.

You do realize that "They are indoctrinated" does not have to mean that they are indoctrinated by the "Reapers" but that the humans are indoctrinated (cult like mind) by Cerberus propaganda. The reason why Cerberus is attacking Shepard could be because TIM does not want the victory of defeating the Reapers to be an alien and human victory but human only victory.

Which would contradict all the "mission complete" notes of TIM where he talks about needing the Quarians,Geth,Krogan and Vorcha against the Reapers.
