Hello, i woul like to ad that english is not my native tongue, so beer with me. There WILL be spelling and grammar mistakes.

It might be good to know that i Have Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate.

I resentely installed Mass Effect 2 on my new computer (asell as Mass Effect 1, both games via Steam) and thus wise, i transfered all of my save files to the new mass effect save games folder (C:\\User\\UserName\\Documents etc.). i then moved the BioWare folder to another drive, D:. You see i have two drives, one small, 50gb with windows and document etc. (C:), and one large 2tb (D:) where i keep my games, non standard programs and, if possible, save files.

I launched mass effect 2 and played for a while on the transffered characters, saved/loaded a few times. Then i created a new character, and when i died i realised i had no autosaves, manual saves or mission restarts. I searched around the internet, and found out that you couldnt place the bioware folder in a root derectiory, so i created a file called documents and put it in there, and that you had to change the save locations in the GamerSettings file found in the Bioware\\Mass Effect 2\\BIOgame\\conifg\\ folder, and did that. however, i think i must have frased the SaveLocation wrong, becuse it still dosent work. I can, however still play/laod/save the transffered chars.

I tried a few internet fixes to be sure this was in fact the problem. I created a file in the save folder and put a few loose saves there, i changed it back to the my documents folder etc. By this time im ready to cut my loses, and im reinstalling the game, moving the file back to my documents folder on the "wrong" drive. I dont care where the bleeding file goes, as long as i can play the game.

I would just like to know if any one knows how to frase the command in the GamerSettings file so that i can select the files in my document and be over with it. I must also ad that although the GamerSettings file is in english, my windows version, and as of such all my file names, are in swedish. For example, the standard "my documents" file is called "mina dokument" and the "Users" file is called "Användare". I dont know if this will change how the game interprets my commands, or wich language i should use while typing them in.

Any help or Ideas would be appreciated.

This thread details how to add a junction for those who have moved their My Documents folder from its default location to another drive. Could be helpful for your situation as well.

This is mine. You will note that the save game location is blank, and that would be because it is in the default location.
