Did you seriously just ask that? The Alliance saves them sacrificing thousends of human lives and they won't?

Seriously, stop acting like a blind stubborn moron.

^Shepard quote

To them, that's not a big deal. At all.

They have the right to express their thoughts just as much as humans do.

And really, I can understand them a lot better than the group of lobotomized retards that calls themselves Terra Firma, which can't even distinguish different colors, judging by their ludicrous babble about the color of blood.

Because to the aliens, humanity swooped in and demanded to be a part of everything immediately without even proving that they can handle themselves first.

Saving them from the geth isn't a big deal?
Also how can we not handle ourselves? We beat the turians, colonise the Terminus and defeated Sovereign and the Geth.

Now that we're talking about the Council, it might be a good moment to mention that Walters has confirmed the appearance of the new one in ME3.

It doesn't matter who you are. If your human, you have certain human rights. Doesn't matter if your a pedophile or a murderer or a mass murderer or Osama Bin Laden or the little old lady down the street, if your human you have the right to be free of torture.

I disagree 100%.

Well that's your right, but those are what human rights are. So if Cerberus doesn't stand up for them, they are not a human rights group.

It's in one of the responses to Jack joking about hijacking the Normandy:

If I take you too seriously, I might need to deal with you.

And during Thane's loyalty mission:

Kid, seriously. I'm in a hurry here.

Pwener's "quote" seems to a distorted version of this line:

The original Council was made up of a bunch of blind, stubborn morons. The new Council looks just as bad.

When we didn't and it was Humanity who saved the Citadel (and maybe the council too.... I didn't). That just shows how incompetent they are in handling galactic matters and should be dethroned.

If you disagree then you're a traitor to you're own species.

I get it now. My Shepard hates Batarians. Colonist, Akuze. Has to keep a woman from killing herself after escaping the slavers. The "sold to Batarian slavers", or "purchased from Batarian slavers" keeps coming up. Then there's the massacre on the asteroid heading toward Terra Nova. Shepard hates Batarians.

But Cerberus? After wiping out a bunch of Cerberus scum in ME1? No way Shep's working for them. Using them on the Collector mission, and being used by them, perhaps, but nothing permanent for sure.

Change torture with the death penalty and I also agree.

That's the point they can't even imagine Saren would do it.

Also what species have colonised the Terminus Systems anyway? The Elcor have at least one but that is protected by mercs and bribes and not the elcor themselves. Humans colonise the most but the council gives no help even with non-colonial matters.

Saren's supposed to be the most decorated most respected spectre at the time of Me1, if your told that your most decorated soldier is doing something that seems implausible and out of character (saren expresses anti human feelings but attacking a human colony is far more extreme than any of his views may have suggested to that point) then the very idea of it would be implausible to you.

Considering you then find out that Saren's indoctrinated which explains all his actions in a different light, the implausibility of attacking Eden Prime makes sense.

The next bit i'll take from the wiki.

Despite the dangers, Citadel races have not been deterred from traveling
through and even extensively colonizing the Terminus Systems
themselves. Humans, turians, salarians, elcor, and volus each have a
sizable colonial presence there. Since the Citadel Council's authority
is nonexistent, these colonies are often fully independent from any
interplanetary government.

Tactic? No, because that's not the only thing my post contained. I used that to end the post with a funny remark.

No, we didn't.

The Council just withdrew the turian forces and offered a negotiation about a spot on the Citadel.

And colonizing the Terminus systems? Big whoop. So did other races looooong before humanity showed up.

Honestly I'd rather not bring decent people down to their level but that's a different debate entirely.

That's not entirely accurate. He was convinced, not indoctrinated. Not completaly that is.

For the discussions of Human Rights in the context of Mass Effect, Cerberus's goal is to first and foremost ensure 1 critical Human Right which supercedes all others: The right of survival. Human Rights cannot exist without humans, and we cannot control any rights if we are subservient to an alien power.

The morally questionable part is the fact that Cerberus violates the rights of individuals on a limited scale in order to protect the rights of the species as a whole. This is not an idea that I agree with, but I do understand it.

I would not trust TIM if he were to take a position of overt power, but in the face of being eradicated by an alien power, almost anything can be theoretically justified. Survival trumps all other priorities.

He was in the early stages of indoctrination, had been from the moment he entered sovereign so its practically the same thing although not completely indoctrinated he was being influenced by indoctrination which explains why he took an action that was implausible even despite his known views.

Eh yes we did. We kicked thier asses off Shanxi then the council intervined.
The fact that we have done things other races can do shows we can handle ourselves.
