Damn, it's going to be a hard call.. but I'll have to say

1. Liara
2. Garrus

Liara because she is my LI and Garrus because he's the funny calibrations side-kick that stuck it out with Shepard since ME 1 along with his elite shooting and tactical skills.

If not Garrus, I'll place Tali in the #2 spot for basically the same reasons except she's the tech expert with tactical skills as well.

Basically, anyone is acceptable but Garrus or Tali as long as the ending sequence features my LI regardless of who's in the current squad..

Well I'll list why I don't want people first.

Thane & Mordin are both closer to death health wise. Keeping them alive would only delay a death that is on its way quickly.

Jacob stereotypes people to harshly. The way he flipped over Thane was foolish.

Miranda is to pro human to be able to help the galaxy. She'd be more focused on humanity(in some play throughs I'd keep her alive though)

Grunt is probably not able to reproduce although he is a true Krogan his life is to end in battle not of age.

Jack is to unstable and erratic

Tali is somewhat rascist and a young hot head. I'd like to keep her alive to someday lead the Quarians in a playthrough or to along with Legion.

Legion is the gateway and an alternative method to helping the Geth issue with the Quarians.

Samara's life goal is over. She was a valiant solider and justicar, but her life goal has been fulfilled. She would be a terrible leader. Far to cold.

Garuss is an alternative surviver for me. He is smart and hardned. One of my favorite characters.

Zaeed & Kasumi are expendable.


I would keep Liara & Kaiden Alive

Liara is the Shadow Broker who makes the world go round and she will do more good then bad. She is also many of my Shepards LI. She is smart, efficient, and talented.

Kaiden like Shepard is a symbol of humanity. He has strong qualities and isn't really to much of a xenophobe as Ashley. I will never have a living Ashley btw. He is a new Spectre and really deserves this. I also trust him as he does I even after the Cerberus events.

Pretty easy for me. Garrus and Kaidan.

At least for my canon Shepard, those two are her kindred spirits and each represents one of the two conflicting sides of her moral sensibility. Plus Garrus is her bro, her most stalwart and loyal comrade-in-arms, and Kaidan is her LI, though they've certainly had their issues.

Liara & Garrus. We owned the Sovereign possessed Saren so hard in ME1. 60% of the battle he was helplessly flying from Liara's max Singularity and Lift, while Garrus lined up perfect SR shots and I overkill'd the bastard. Of course, I'll only take them if the final battle doesn't kill off your squaddies, no matter their loyalty or anything. I don't want to lose my favourite LI and the most badass turian ever.

I hope that at the end all living squadmates from all three games are available. If so, I'll finsih with Garrus and Wrex.

Definitely Garrus; I've fought with him side by side since day one, as far as I am concerned. The second choice would be a whole lot tougher.

I'd probably go for Ashley. But if she isn't a viable option, I'd have no problem going for Miranda or Jack either. Even though I have no problems with any other character, I always end up with the same team every playthrough. There is no reason I can think of to switch team members right when it's getting a little too hot under the feet.

ME1: Garrus and Wrex
ME2: Garrus and Miranda
ME3: Garrus and Liara

Garrus is pure awesome and was in my squad almost all the time in ME1 and ME2, and my main Shep's LI is Liara. So if they are both still alive by the end of ME3, it'd be those two.

Kaidan and Miranda. Where squad AI fails at shooting, manual control of squad powers saves the day.

Edit: that was for my Paragon canon. Her ME1 squad was "team biotics" Kaidan and Wrex; ME2 squad "team Warp" Miranda and Thane
