There`s a lot of competition for game of the year this year (Uncharted, Gears, Skyrim, Batman, etc)? Now I`m not saying this is the only reason but maybe it could be a factor, what do you think?

Probably. I wouldn't release my game in November either, when I've got the whole of March for just it.

Doubt it. Even if that was the case, they'd release it in January, not March.

EA has got some other big name releases coming out this year - maybe ME was the one they thought would be nice if they had a bit longer - so thought hey, we'll move it into an area where there is less competition against are own brand AND so it has a bit more polish.

Either way - I am fine with this.

I reckon TOR stole ME3's original release date.

Yah I have no problem with it and it actually works out for my wallet but the thought came to me when I noticed how many games are coming in the last few months of 2011.

@leonia42

Does tor even have a release date yet? I thought they only announced pre orders.

Not officially no, but all signs point to November as that falls within the "Holiday Season".

Hmm... how about, I don't care.

It's released, when it's released. I have no problem waiting longer either.

I get more time to save up, and finish more playthroughs. B)

I have no problem with delays.

It's the rush-jobs that I can't stomach. (DA2)

Probably not. It most likely had something to do with SWTOR. And DA2.

If that game could of gotten another year it would of been great, I hope they take at least 2 years for DA3.

Not that we would ever insinuate BioWare rushed a game..(DA2)

Who cares, it's delayed.

That means they'll put more work into ME3.

No one knows except Bioware/EA. For us, there's no way to know and no way to find out. That and I highly doubt it's down to one single factor anyway.

And I have to say, I wonder why this keeps coming up so often. Is it because people fear it's due to some nefarious reason, like adding multiplayer or something?

The only reason anything comes up on this website is because people fear that it's something nefarious.

I don`t think they`d be foolish enough to add multiplayer in a ME game, maybe co-op at the most. But no I just had this thought and wanted to see how people would re act, I thought I was going to get attacked by a bunch of hardcore Bioware lovers that would be like "how dare you accuse Bioware of doing that they would never delay a game for selfish reasons"

No they did it so they can have the awesome release date of 3/6/12. I mean 11/11/11 was already taken. Although 11/22/11 would have been nice.

winter holiday has traditionally been a great time to release games, but game design is at odds with that. They could hold off till the next holiday, but I imagine they need to recuperate the costs asap.

I'd say either to avoid TOR's release schedule or to be able to get the Gears of War audience after they've had a while to play Gears 3.

It's a smart move.

Why risk losing out to multiple GOTY awards to either Skyrim or The Witcher 2 when you can have 2012 all for yourself?

It's obvious that Bioware wants ME3 to be the final GOTY in the world before the world ends.
